Gas gauge never goes to full/Bad mileage

Ive been having this issue for a while with my E24 and it's been costing me $$. Whenever i fill up, the gauge always stops at between 3/4 and full and never goes to full.My obc never reads past 49L even when filled, doesn't our cars have 16.6gal tanks? I drive 24 miles a day(12 miles to and 12 from) to work and have to fill up every 5 days(I fill up on 1/4 tank). My OBC reads 13mpg but unless my calculations are off im nowhere near that. I already changed the fuel lever sender and the results are still the same. Not sure what else to do at this point.

If the pump at the station is shutting off, your tank is full. What is your actual (calculated) mileage? How many gallons from 1/4 tank to full? I have found that the U.S. cars either have a smaller fuel tank, or simply don't fill up as much; because all of them seem to have a capacity around 14-15 gallons.

The realistic max (road trip) range you're going to see out of this car is somewhere in the neighborhood of 250 miles. Assuming you drive mixed roads with lights, filling up after 120 miles with some fuel left in the tank isn't outrageous. Assuming an auto: 13 mpg heavy city driving, 16-19 mixed, and 20+ highway are all reasonable numbers.

It sounds like you have a gauge calibration issue and POSSIBLY a fuel consumption problem.

I routinely get 300 miles where I drive with 25% highway.

In my auto car, more like 250.

You should be able to get 18mpg easily. Is your O2 sensor not working? CTS bad?

I'm guessing the same. After reading I saw that the euro has a 70L(18.5 US Gal) tank and US has a 16.6 Gal. Not sure how accurate that is though.

The OBC calculates 13-14 the highest but it's all 100% city. After calculating I'm getting single digits around 7-9 so something must be off. Last time I filled up it had 3 gallons in the tank.

What does your OBC read after you fill up the tank? Mine never goes above 49.5.

18?I've never gotten that high. Not sure about the O2 sensor, I've had no issues passing emissions in the past but now since it's considered classic i havent had to test in the last few years. What's CTS?

7-9 mpg is ridiculous. All that fuel is going somewhere. Forget the gauge issue, for now and inspect your fuel system for evaporative and fluid leaks. Check the tank for a possible pinhole leak. The area around the filler neck is problematic for some people, as well as the vapor system in the trunk. As far as plumbing, you can follow the supply and return lines from the pump through the inline pump and fuel filter, up through the FPR (a suspect item that should definitely checked), and through the fuel rail. Be sure to check the return lines, as well.

My bottom filler neck hose has a leak but I'll just replace all of them now that I have the chance. Does anyone know the length/sizes of hoses that are used?
