    Brake Pads, Rotors & Sensors

I need to replace my front brake pads, rotors and the left sensor. Can anyone recommend to me any place online I can order from and what parts?

    I'm a daily driver, I don't do anything crazy. I have a 2013 bmw 328i 4dr rwd.

I'm thinking I want ceramic to avoid all the dust and squeal.

Also I have a shop which will install once I have parts for about $100 is that a good price?

this place looks good for parts:

    also amazon.

    Thanks,

    Christopher

Dust aside, the best brake parts are factory BMW, no squeals, no warping, no wooden brake pedal feel.

Rock Auto and Amazon are not the places to buy BMW parts. Try one of the many BMW specialist suppliers. Personally, I regularly use FCP Euro, but RM European, Pelican Parts, ECS Tuning and others are also known good suppliers. If you buy from Rock Auto, you'll get crap no-name generic parts, rather than OEM quality. And, really, you're talking about BRAKES here....do you really want to trust your life to garbage parts?

Also, places like Amazon or Rock Auto may sell you brakes for an E92, when you actually have an F30, and then nothing will fit anyway.

Similarly, I highly recommend that you either find a good BMW / Euro specialist shop, or learn to do the brakes yourself. A generic repair shop that spends most of the time working on pickup trucks may well make mistakes that will cause you issues. They may, for instance, put orange glue on your brake parts, instead of the lubricant recommended. They'll likely not be able to reset your CBS intervals, either. It might cost you fifty bucks more at the Euro shop, but it will be money well spent.

Better yet, if you'd like to save yourself SERIOUS money, over time, buy a few tools, and a Bentley manual, and look at a few of the DIY's at Pelican Parts, or Bavarian Autosport.

Be aware that most non-OEM brakes have certain trade-offs for the reduced dust. Most "ceramic" pads don't work very well, stone cold, like when you have to suddenly hit the brakes, on the highway. Now, there are certainly excellent ceramic pads, like Akebono Euros. But even those fine pads seem to have a half-second delay when stone cold; that's, um 44 feet, at 60 mph. (My math may be off, but suffice it to say that for street use, I am very uncomfortable with brakes that don't have instant response cold. OEM pads always work stone cold, or at any street temperature.

EDIT: Sorry, Miky, we overlapped; I type slowly. I hadn't seen your post. And, OP, I agree with Miky that Akebono Euros are the best low dust aftermarket option. But there's still that half-second.....

    Hi Chris,
I also agree, for an instantaneous, performance braking option, OEM is the best option!
    He specifically stated that "I'm a daily driver, I don't do anything crazy. I have a 2013 bmw 328i 4dr rwd."
Since OP requested low noise, low dust options, I provided an option I use personally.
Note to OP-That half second can be considered as the concession to low dust, thank Chris for that warning!

All, thank you so much. What about the brand, type or quality of rotor? Can anyone make a recommendation for a daily driver?

ATE is the OEM for BMW normally, so you can go with that. I would stay away from questionable brands like duralast or URO parts.

Excellent manufacturers for BMW brake rotors include: Textar, Ate, Meyle, Brembo, Zimmerman, plus more I'm forgetting.

If you pick a good, trusted, BMW supplier, they'll tell you what you're buying. Steer clear of generic Autozone/ Rock Auto/ Amazon type places.
