Hello guys,
I'm having a situation with a e46 325CI with m54 engine. The issue is as follows: it is difficult to start the car, the idle is unstable and when running it has a lack of power this situation does not happen always. After scanning the car, it has 3 temperature sensors that are giving me a reading of -47 all of them and the 3 of them are giving me the same voltage reading (5 volts). Does any body has an idea of what can be generating this situation? I thought might be the thermostat but not sure.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Greetings from CR
Are you able to have the codes read? Seeing which codes come up will give you an excellent idea of where to start looking for the issue. When you say that it's difficult to start the car, are you talking about it not turning over or needing to prime it for a long period of time or something else?

The late e46 used the out side temp sensor for the dme signal
Thank you for your answer Dmitry. I don't have the codes handy right now, but the scanner gave a code of the temperature sensor. That's why I was reviewing the and reading the voltage and the signal (using live data) of the 3 temp sensors it has... Regarding turning on the vehicle, it takes like 10 -15 sec with the key in start position to be able to torn the car on.

Thank you for your answer jclausen, would you suggest to review the signal coming from the DME? I can replace the sensors, however it seems strange since the 3 sensors are giving me the same signal. I Was thinking in taking a look on what comes before the sensors...
