    I made decent design progress over the past few days. Is it same to assume most people are not retrofitting MK60 DSC?

    It also appears that ABS/ASC on OBD1 cars has no speed output that can be used to drive the cluster. I'll need to translate the pulses from the diff sensor.

    No DSC here either. Also I think many people waiting are Obd2 chassis e36's. But I could be wrong.

    Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm trying to balance component count/complexity/cost with flexibility. Looks like not a big deal to build in speedometer translation (for OBD1 support/fewer wires for OBD2).

    Does anyone care about check control support? I had removed the OBC from my car and implemented it with the E46 cluster but that probably won't be part of the production boards. If you want the cluster to display external temp you would need to add a 2nd sensor.

    I'll provide an input for the BC stalk button so you can cycle through clock/temp/mpg. You could use some other button or add the stalk with button if you don't have the 18-button OBC.

    Schematic is done, working on board layout + enclosure selection now.

    I also had a mod fix my mis-spelling of the thread title.

    Forgot to mention - schematic does not have support for E46 A/C pressure sensor, will rely on E36 pressure switch. The pressure sensor option wasn't popular with the CAN board and provided benefit only when used with E46 compressor, radiator outlet temp sensor, and PWM fan controller.

    I was hoping to integrate the Mk60 if possible but I'm not sure how much more work that would be, or if there would be another way to do so separately.

    I decided the board will support swaps with or without MK60.

    It is quite a bit of work for full DSC (new wheel speed sensors, yaw/lateral acceleration sensor, steering angle sensor, custom brake lines, E46 M/C with pressure sensors, Z3M S54 booster). You also need an E46 cluster with VIN that matches MK60 or CAN board programmed to emulate a few more cluster messages.

    Not necessary, but I'll probably offer a cluster coding/mileage correction service at some point. The board will sit between your E36 cluster connectors and the E46 cluster. A few additional wires (CAN, A/C, etc) will be required.

    The cluster physical mods will be DIY.

    So the ABS unit and the cluster need matching vins? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the swap slightly less complicated if you only want the ABS and not the DSC functionality?

    Yes, if you want DSC to work. ABS is fine without receiving the cluster messages and I've been told it works fine without the yaw/lateral acceleration sensor and steering angle sensor.
