So the swap into my z3m is complete and running great. However, having a recurring issue with the CCV/oil separator.
Anybody have trouble with oil coming out past the large o ring on the oe oil separator on the valve cover? Brand new separator and o ring. Have a catch can plumbed in to vent port as well.
Track day ended early because it kept spitting oil and dropping on headers creating a smoke show.
Do I need to add rtv to the o ring?
I had an S54 swapped into an e36 M3 and wow did it haul ass! I really miss that car, and may re-create it before I die! I never had CCV trouble, but I looked at Pelican Parts, and they show a solenoid on the hose that goes to the CCV below the valve cover. Do you have this, and if so, is it working? I can only assume it closes under low engine vacuum, for example when the throttle closes and you slow down. A worn engine can also cause low vacuum, and maybe a vacuum leak? I remember when I turbo'd a 325is and it belched oil out the CCV as I was pressurizing the oil pan. Not much help I know, but since no one else posted, why not? Good luck and your car sounds awesome!
