    Awesome work.

You should look into also including the "bc" input from a the e36 stalk. We can cycle thru fuel consumption time, etc.

Running CSL software we can get oil level for later model clusters.

    here is something quick.

Just want to say that I've been following all of these swaps in various threads and the level of ingenuity going into these builds is just amazing guys. Gpeterson, you are really making this swap more accessible. I am hoping to start slowly acquiring parts for mine after I get the car sorted for the track this season.

Great progress!! I was hoping that you might be able to please post additional pictures and information regarding what you needed to do to physically fit the E46 cluster into the E36 dash. What modifications did the cluster itself require? What modifications to the dash (sanding in which areas?) were necessary to get it in there? Thank you!!

Not yet, I haven't had time to make any additional progress, will provide updates here when I can get back to it.

No big updates, been too busy to make major progress. Yesterday I soldered up a digital potentiometer that will be used to drive the cluster's dual fuel level sensor inputs. I also did a bit of work on software - turns out the microcontroller needs to be powered at all times (not just key on), sleep after inactivity, and wake via interrupt so that things like hazard indicators work when the key is off/not present.

How much is the MCU idle current?

The digital pot is working well for feeding the cluster's fuel level inputs.

I haven't measured yet, but should be < 1ma during sleep, so nothing to worry about.

Awesome! I think the total parasitic load on our cars is around 10-15mA when everything "goes to sleep" so yea 1 more mA is nothing.
