Well got in my car this morning to find this...

Hasnt leaked any other rain...
I have felt the whole ceiling/headliner and nothing feels wet cant find where it would drip from..
Is it possible to be coming from under the seat?
It was a big puddle before i got a bucket and bailed out my rear seat...
Anyone ever have a problem like this?

I'm confused about my life as well, really lacking any sort of joy or direction lately.
As far as that leak goes, I don't think it is possible to come from under the car, but have you checked the trunk? Reason I ask is because if a sunroof drain is clogged/dislodged/torn (unlikely as they feel like plastic even when new), you may get some water in trunk and it is not impossible for it leak through to that area. It may even leak by the rear drain hose and go behind the C pillar - which is plastic, such that you would not see any signs of water intrusion on the Headliner fabric itself. Pull the pillar off if you must and see what is going on. Be careful with the pillar, it is a piece of shit design and will likely lead to some clips snapping.
Other thought is that your rear window has an issue and that would be a big thing to get fixed right.
Final thought is an issue with the rear side window possibly at the large gasket that runs the roofline where the glass ticks into.
I would lay a sheet of plastic over the rear seats (or take them out) and see if you can come out as it rains and sit in the car to trace the leak.
Good luck and hopefully the tin worm doesn't bite.
Maybe it was your driving... Did you scare your passenger that much?

I dont think its my rear window, it operates fine and when driving in heavy rain no water comes in the car. Iv sat in it felt around and nothing...
The sunroof drain sounds to be my problem, as i didnt know there was a drain.
Thanks for the suggestions, more are welcome. I will try to find my sunroof drain for now.

#13, had same fishing pond on the back seats
For the front drains you have access with sunroof opened, for the rear drain ... you would need to lower roof liner slightly...
I had a similar leak on an E38. It turned out to be the rear windshield seal. Applied sealant (from inside) to fix it. Used a leaf blower or air compressor (can't remember which) to blow air from outside and listened carefully inside to locate the leak.

Thanks bmw528, my sunroof doesnt really open due to saggy headliner...
I was going to get a new headliner done soon, would they look/repair while the headliners down? If not ill rip it up i plan to reupholster some of the interior. Rear seats wernt on my list.
And great suggestions, i will try the air compressor if i can find a helper.. my rear winshield seal does look abit worn.. ill take a picture of the window seal

I have water leaking into mine down the A and C pillar. I feel your pain...
By rear window, I mean the rear glass cemented to the body.
What "thumbs up" really means
Oh alright, well ya thats what i though... i hope its not bad, but all the plastic and rubber on my 8 is old.
Just did all the gaskets and fuel lines in the engine.
Good thing was it was storming last night nd this morning i didnt have a puddle on my seat...
I know it will happen again though so i want to find it.
Drove it around all day fixed my passenger seat tilt, never a drop from anywhere. It was raining most of the day.

At first look I was thinking please don't be the fuel tank! Obviously not, you are still here and that's a good thing!
Sunroof drains
Does anyone have images of all the drain locations and how to clear them? I don't have any leaks or anything, but after 25 years, it's probably time to clean them all out. The only one I have done is the fuel door, but I doubt that is the back seat puddle issue.

I had the same situation once and all the water was coming from the sunroof.. I took it to a technician and everything was ok again.. But the truth is that it's a terrible situation.
The gas door drain is the hole right below the gas cap. Mine filled up with water when washing the car one day. I just used a piece of 14awg wire, pulled the outer sleeve to cover the wire as to not scratch or rip anything (don't know what's in there) and pushed it through.

Hmm well no puddles in my seat .. but car running alittle ruff.
On acceleration i can hear water slosh around like theres a puddle somewhere....
Is it normal to hear the fluids in your engine bay slosh around?
Im trying to pinpoint the exact spot i hear it.
Mainly on acceleration and turning...

Alright, well you were right. Im so glad we have a forum and people to help!
I took the rear seat out,Puddle underneath it.
Peeled the c pillar out abit and the cpillar is wet also.
Now all i need to know, do i pull out the hose and fit a new one or reroute it?
Or just open the sunroof and unclog the hole.
I looked for gas door drain and couldnt find any hole...

Here's a pic of the gas door drain. Mine's a 91, so not sure if it changed. You can see some crap around there that will eventually clog the drain.

Weed-whacker line works well for clearing the drains:
