Hey there,
I am looking into getting a 2011 e91 wagon with just over 50k miles on it. Never owned a BMW so have been reading a lot about maintenance and cost of ownership. The car just had all of this done.
Brake fluid flushed/changed
Brake pad sensor(s) replaced
Brakes checked
Drivability/performance checked
Engine oil/fluid leak checked
Exterior trim checked
Front brake pads replaced
Front brake rotor(s) replaced
Ignition system checked
Oil and filter changed
If anyone can give me a kind of estimate of annual running costs and maintenance for the 2011 Wagon it would help settle some nerves and get an idea of what to expect. Im located in NY. I would have my local shop work on the car mostly so would try to avoid dealership costs. I know its a vague question but as a first time (possible) owner I would love to hear from any other wagon owners or 328i owners.
Cheers!
2006 325xi Wagon here. 137,000 miles, all mine.
The miles are low on the car you are considering. Read the threads here to see what people run into. If you can DIY, then you will find the kinds of things that need attention are very manageable. There are excellent parts suppliers, so parts are easy to obtain. Get yourself a Bentley Manual. It will show you how to do all your own repairs.
I have a 2010 328i xdive wagon. Bought it with 65K miles. Now has 95K. I replaced all fluids when I first bought it including the transfer case fluid. I just replaced all shocks, all coils and installed rebuild injectors because I was starting to get a misfire on cylinder 5. Also just put on rear pads and new Bridgestone Drive guard tires. All pretty easy and inexpensive DIY projects except the tires of course. So far we love the car. It has most of the space of a small SUV but drives like a car.
