I bought a 2006 328xi last year and recently I put some halo lights in and I can help but wonder what else I could do do the car.. I want to start with the engine and maybe some other exterior mods but I'm wondering, would it just be better to sell my car and buy one that has a little more power?, because I'm looking for more hp and I'm torn with what to do..
If you had the new 328 with 4 cylinder turbo, you could get a significant power bump, but there is not much you can easily do for your 2006. I woukd sell it and buy a newer, faster car.
It's quite difficult to tune this car and make it performance orientated without spending a ton of money. In a nut shell, you'd prob be better off with another car if performance and tuning are what you're going for. What would your budget be? Any particulars that you're looking at or thinking about? We're happy to help out with any questions or fixes, so feel free to reach out!

Save your money, don't buy little parts that you think will add a few rwhp. Buy a used 335i when you can afford one. I have seen them as low as $12k-$14k. Beware maintenance is more expensive on an older turbo car.
I don't know how mechanically inclined you are, but I would look at an E36 M3. You can get them from right around 10k with about 100k miles or so. There is a lot of work that you can do with them and the engine block on those cars is solid. Parts are also coming down in price a lot and used parts are very easy to find. That's the route that I would go - just my 2 cents. I've also attached a link to our site's DIY tech articles on the E36 so you can see exactly how much info there is on them. Best of luck and let us know what you decide on.

330i/X5 3.0si/Z4 3.0si intake manifold (with any harness differences) plus the associated DME programming will get you +25 hp +25 torque, just like the 330i car. The intake manifold plus programming is what made more power on the same 3.0 engine.

This is probably what I would do. You wouldn't even have to worry about harness differences - all N52 cars are already prewired for the DISA valves. I'm also shortly going to release the stuff (RSA bypass + modified tunes) to flash a 3-stage calibration to MSV80 cars via WinKFP for free.
Depends on your expectations and goals.
If you are looking for a car that will make serious power, get the 335.
If you are just looking to make your car more fun to drive then yes you can definitely tune it
I recommend Acitve Autwerke flash + Intake + exhaust + headers
If you do not want to spend too much money and just want a module to make the car more responsive, get the REMUS Responder
