I know they have done this tread before, whats the best way to solve the leaking problem, and cooling, maybe hooking up a cooler, also what about aga they have one for $300.
Or this one
It seems like alot of money for something that cam be mocked up. Also has amybody re-located it like on m5's I beleive.
Looks like a solution in search of a problem.

Especially when it leaks all over the altenator.
Theres a bunch on ebay, but it should have a breather vent or hose.
Not shure but the rounf they have is smaller and it's $300.
So I'm assuming that one would be more than that maybe 4 or 5 hundred
Ill give them a call.
But thats too much.
You can get the steering rack rebuilt for that much
Is the problem actually the PS reservoir on the e38/e39...or is the leakage problem usually the hoses to the PS reservoir?
Unlike the coolant expansion tank...it actually fails (cracks) thus something made of more substantial material is worth looking into. But in most cases...the PS reservoir hoses are the ones that leak...or am I looking at this incorrectly?

Sometimes its the hoses where they connect, and because it plastic you cant tighten it too tight it prob will crank, or it leaks from the bleeder hole.
Thats a aluminum radiator reservoir from zionville and dual stage fan. But they are pretty expensive I think 350 for the kit.
But it's worth it, for me so far at least.
They have a good non-electronic thermostat that uses the old style spring version, it runs the engine operating temperature lower. Also they have aluminum radiators separate or whole kit.
I feel like they are worth it, prob save your engine or fowing fees and maybe emegency repair depending where you are.
Plus set it n forget it.
Aga doesn't carry the big square model.
They have the round models
One with stright down connections, and angled, and also the bleeder hose.
This thread is very one-sided. You have done an excellent job keeping a conversation going with yourself. Bravo.
Again, the power steering reservoir usually isn't the issue. Most of the leakage comes from either a faulty reservoir cap/o-ring and the hoses themselves. Replacing the reservoir with an aluminum one won't fix the problem of crappy hoses.

For shure. You cut the hoses back a bit and retighten them. But ive seen the plastic crack before from over tightening.
Also Im wondering if its alot bigger than stock and if it realy does keep the oil cooler.

Cheap fix
Order the drain hose, connect it to original cap to drain excess and cut the hoses back a bit and maybe wrap them with a bit Teflon tape and some black tape after.
Or spend da $325. And be done with it.
Hope this helps , out there.
