Hi,
I've got a question about really just the vernacular of a hose. So Yesterday a ton of coolant spilled out of the bottom of my car, and today I was looking around to see if I could see any issues. I decided I needed to replace a hose. See pic below. Basically there are 2 hoses that come out of the bottom of the expansion tank, and I'm just wondering what those hoses are called. I had o'reillys order in the longer of the two and I'm planning to pick up tomorrow. But just wondering if someone knew a part # and information on it.
PS - I don't know much about cars, so if you respond, please communicate as if you were speaking with a 5-year old. Thank you

Where does that second hose go? On my 98 528i the expansion tank is blocked off, just have the one hose.....

Ed CT, perfect link, Thank you so much!
You're quite welcome. Save the url - it comes in handy when ordering parts using the BMW part number.

Be careful. I think the expansion tank is more likely the problem than the hose. The plastic seems to degrade faster than the rubber. Many consider it a maintenance item just like radiators, although they do last longer than that.

^^^ What he said. Those hoses usually last much longer than the expansion tank. Most people recommend changing the entire cooling system every 80k-100k miles.
