    Did I Screw Up

I just purchased a 2006 M5 58k miles single owner. This vehicle was serviced at the dealership to date. I'm reading all the horror stories and wondering if it's as bad as people say?

Well, first of all congratulations! I just purchased my 07 M5 with 52k on it a couple of months ago. I don't have any horror stories to share with you, I'm just enjoying the hell out of it!

You have to remember the internet car forums are full of enthusiasts and people who have an issue that post for help.

Gotta remember nobody posts on forums that their car is running fine.

Definitely have money ready for maintenance, I just did my front brake pads and they were 300.00 in parts (I did the install). Rotors (just for the front 2) would have costed 900 more.

You can pick them up for cheap, but they aren't cheap to maintain. Gotta factor in BMW markup, then plan on multiplying the cost, for the M markup.
