    M70 rocker gamble - Spareto

Well this coming weekend, since it will be relatively warm out, I decided to tackle replacement of all Hydraulic lifters. I had one that was noisy and was replaced last year. Now another on the same bank is bad. So I figured since I am pulling the valve covers I may as well replace the works. Valve seals were done with top end rebuild. But the liters were not. Rockers and pressure pads looked good, I had two sets that I pulled the best from. But heck, may as well replace them.

So after shopping around, I found a new parts site. Reviews are generally positive. I have never heard of Spareto though, anyone else? Generally ECS was best on price for a known US seller, but shipping of $100 for a few ounces of metal was insane. Rockers were also best price at ECS - but again, shipping. Not to mention ECS does not seem to stock them, so everything would not even ship until April. So from Spareto I will be getting Febi pressure pads but the gamble is in the rockers. If they look like crap, I may not install them. But they are from a company called Topran. From what I can find, they generally are like Febi and Meyle in that they simply re-package. So my hope is they are something good. Would not be the first time I bought a "cheap" part only to end up with an OEM part in a plain box.

So fingers crossed. Hate to cut corners, but in the end I saved about $180 over ECS and the parts should be here in just a few days, not April.

I think Luk is the OEM brand. If you haven't already ordered, look at ebay and FCP Euro as another source.

Not sure if they have the rockers but I've found incredibly good deals at autohausaz.com

I have bought many items from AutoHaus, so I did look there.

    Autohausaz.com
    RockAuto.com
    PelicanParts.com
    BAVAuto.com
    FCPEuro.com
ECSTuning.com <---- Lot of issues with these guys, so last resort only but they do have good prices.

    Probably missing a couple more!

Parts should be here Monday. One issue is they had short stock of the pressure pads. So that slowed them getting the order out. But one week for an order from Estonia to US is pretty dang good for $32.00.

Rockers came. They look really nice but have none of the factory markings. So actual brand is not known. Hopefully get these installed soon!
