    BMW class aciton lawsuit for 'water in trunk' settled for up to $478Million

    BMW apparently settled a water damage lawsuit.

    It is my understanding that this is what is proposed, but not finalized by the courts. Still being negotiated by BMW and the plaintiffs. Stay tuned for updates...

    Yeah it's not "official" yet, and apparently owners will be either notified via mail, or once it's cleared the court, then you can call up BMW or take your E60 to your local dealer for inspection, repair(s), etc.

    The plaintiffs council is pushing BMW to drop the 10 year provision, where the entire run of the e60-61 will be treated the same, before the courts sign off.

    Hopefully so! I have an 07 that's just under the 100k mark but was made in 06 so I wouldn't qualify...the 10 year limit is pretty stupid in my opinion. Another way they're trying to skimp on paying. That'll cut out a bunch of cars.

    yes, the e61 is also covered. it just depends on which site you read the information on as to whether or not the know that the e61 is "different" than the e60.
