The loyal E85 is coming to that point that repair and maintenance are just about the same as a new car payment. OK, not quite, but every other month is an overnight at the shop and a few hundred dollars. It's starting to get to me. I'm thinking of a 2014-2015 E89, and to be fair, I've never sat in one, not even in a showroom.
I'm browsing here and there and learning about it. So here's my first dumb question. Does any E89 model, especially the M-badged ones, come with a proper LSD?
Thanks.

37 views and nobody can tell the differential in the E89? Is this the wrong forum?
Go to realoem and look up the differentials, it will usually indicate in the parts diagram if it is equipped with a limited slip diff. I do not think E89's came with LSD's.
There are also no true "M" variants of the E89. The "M badged" ones are nothing more than a fancy sport package.

realoem is a good idea. Went there, but can't tell whether or not this is a LSD.

From the limited research, it doesn't seem the E89, even M-badged, come with a proper LSD. Which is a bummer. For 12 years I've been wishing for an LSD. So what does one get with the "M" on a sDrive35i? (Not the "is".)

Just two weeks ago I traded my E85 in on a new ('16) E89. Because the roads here are covered with salt, I have yet to drive the new car - I had it flat-bedded to my house from the dealer. I cant tell you how it rides, compared to the E85 but I may be able to answer other questions regarding the differences between the two. Mine does have the "M" package, among other items, so feel free to PM me and I will answer as best I can.
