    2007 X5 Acceleration problems 3.0

#2 - As long as I am accelerating slowly, the car shifts thru the gears fine. But if I hammer down on the pedal, it won't drop down a gear and take off. Engine revs up makes a bunch of noise like it's trying to go. I can also pull the shifter over and shift thru the gears manually and everything works fine as well. But if you keep it in the automatic mode, you have to accelerate very slowly and allow the gears to shift, sometimes letting off the pedal when it's time for the gear to shift up, then accelerate again.

I put a OBD scanner on it and it showed a P00115, so I changed the exhaust camshaft position sensor. Didn't help, it was probably a different issue.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

You could look at the valvetronic plug and see if it's full of oil, it's at the front of the valve cover, all you will see is the plug and socket the rest of it is under the valve cover.
