Congrats on the success! How did you modify the stock driveshaft?

Funny. I was just looking at mine since I am swapping trans to a GS6-53 and it seems like there is less gasket compression at the rear. I’ll take a closer look. Don’t recall hearing any leak and don’t see black in that area. I think I have the obd2 metal gaskets because there is a metal half moon tab on the end. I could pull it preventatively now but am not sure I want to add that project. Would have been easier before I installed the new trans.
Leen held good to his warranty and covered the costs of machining the flange. At least I don’t feel special about my flange warping if you guys are having the same results.
For most of us, mailing a heavy manifold would cost as much as a machine shop skim.
I had a local machine shop machine the flange, Leen is sending me a cheque to cover the cost. No shipping required.
The car was down for the last week while I was recovering a new sunroof-less headliner and removing the sunroof. I color matched an S2R carbon fiber sunroof plug and installed it as well. I never use the sunroof, the tilt stopped working and the headliner was sagging so this was my opportunity to getter done. All fixed and 38 lbs lighter from the top of the car. The doors and hood will hopefully be next.
The turbo manifold has been on for a while with no issues and I’ve been testing a stiffer IWG spring combo to see if I can have a stable 24 psi. Datalogging is in my future.
The finned 210 diff cover is all welded up. I just need to clean up a couple of spots with a die grinder and leak check it before it goes on. I’ll post up some pics after it’s cleaned up.
I have an upcoming track day at the Ridge and my car has decided to take up intermittent stalling so I figured I better figure it out. Step one - scan for codes, MAF code and IAT code.
The small black cover was about to fall off so I pulled it off to investigate. No Sir, I didn’t like it.
The IAT connector was on the sensor but not engaged. Oops

Any guesses in the cause? Water/meth?
What am I looking at? Rat poo?!?!?!
Possibly damaged from the pre compressor water/meth. It’s only a 0.3 nozzle though. The sensor has been in there for 60,000 miles so it doesn’t owe me anything.

At least you found the issue.
You better have vids from the Ridge afterward!!
All those sensors look like that. They mill off the cover and use a laser to modify the internal resistive pads then they glue on a new cover.

I made the 750 km (450 mi) round trip to the Ridge Motorsport park this weekend. I like that track but I haven’t got it totally figured out yet so I’m still kinda timid in spots. I’m lifting at about 245 km/h (152 mph) on the front straight before turn one. The car has more but I chicken out as the corner rapidly approaches. I managed to do a 1:54 on NT-01’s. I had turned the boost down to 16-17 psi just to be nice to the engine. Coolant temp was 190°F and oil temp was 220°F for all my sessions. I was using about 4 L of water/meth per session. I think I need to reduce the flow a bit but it’s not misfiring. I tried a set of Carbotech XP12/XP10 pads for the first time today and they were confidence inspiring. I ran the brake water cooling today as well.
I’ll try to get a video up soon.

One thing I noticed was that I had set the boost controller for 18-19 psi but boost fell to 16-17 psi during the session. I get the same thing happening at 24 psi, falling to 21 psi with heat in the system. I’m thinking that one of the wastegates is being affected by the heat and bleeding pressure. It really drives me nuts actually.
I will try the Turbosmart EWG again to see if that give a more stable boost and I will increase the preload on the IWG-75 to see if that makes a difference. Some how temperature is affecting boost.

I just got back from a little 2900 km (1800 mi) family vacation in the M3 which took us down the Oregon coast and into the Redwood forest, over to Crater lake, up to Smith Rock, over to Evergreen Aviation Museum, up to Mt St Helens and home with so many cool stops along the way. The M3 was a champ except for the trunk tool kit thumb screw breaking and the drivers window regulator crapping the bed 2/3 of the way through the trip. Even at 7500 ft elevation at Crater lake she had gobs of power still.
Pictures from my journey....

Glad you and your family had an awesome trip!
That’s weird to see a Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox statue. Where is that located? I thought that was just a Minnesota thing. There are like half a dozen of those here.
Its down in California.

chikinhed, glad you had fun. That road trip looks awesome!
Impressive car — very fast on the track, civilized enough for family use, and reliable to take on an 1800 mile trip.
The M3 actually hit 400,000 km (216,000 mi) while we were at Crater lake. Another mile stone in the the M3’s life.
In prep for the road trip I swapped the race seats for the Vaders, the straight through muffler for the valved muffler and I removed the rear subframe v-brace for more back seat to truck access even though we didn’t end up flipping the seats down.
I have put together a road trip tool bag with tools, ty-raps, lockwire, spark plugs, coil, TPS, cam sensor, crank sensor, fuel pump, relays, silicon 90° for turbo outlet, clamps, wire, connectors, small air compressor, tire plugs, etc. Based on Murphy’s law, if you have all that stuff then those things will be the least likely to fail.

Oregon's my old stomping grounds. great country, & one of the best coast line on earth imo.
WOT
Love the fact that it’s reliable, and the whole family got to enjoy it

You left the LeMay museum off the map...
How was that? Havent been since the new building. It used to just be in a bunch of barns and random buildings.
Road trip looks like a great route and glad the car had no major problems.
