I took my lowering springs off my early car as it dropped the car to much for me. I was rubbing with 225/50/16 in the front and sometimes the exhaust would hit. It was more trouble than benefit.
That's a good deal Bert. My '80 Euro had Hartge chassis components, including lowering springs, bigger anti roll bars and Bilstein Sport shocks while it was still in Germany. I loved the way the car sat and handled and it was glorious on the highway. It also was equipped with BBS wheels, 7x16 front w/205-55R16 tires and 8x16 rear w/225-50R16 tires...never had a problem with rubbing or bottoming out on regular roads but did have to take it easier on the dirt goat trail of a road leading up to my home!!!
