Hey guys, I just bought a 2001 e46 m3. It has a suspension on it that is just too stiff for me. I do an occasional track day, maybe two a year, otherwise it is mostly a daily driver, or I want it to be! The previous owner said it was a turner motorsports track sport suspension, which turner uses h&r. 001 (1).jpgimage1 (34).JPGThis is what the shocks look like. I cannot adjust the ride quality. I guess I am looking for suggestions. Can I just replace with different shocks with a ride adjustment on them? Are these any good? Are my HR shocks valuable? Are adjustable ones any good?
Thanks
Anybody?
Look into Koni yellow struts. They have some adjustability and generally perform equally well with both stock and aftermarket springs. Speaking of springs, you may need to pick these up too depending on what model was used in your current setup.
The value of your coil over set up is based on how old it is and how desirable particular combo is.

If you can swing it go coils if you want to lower it and if you don't then the konis as mentioned above

It looks like you have the H&R Cup Kit, which is pretty low and stiff - too stiff for some. Unless it is nearly new, I would refresh the shocks and springs at the same time, rather than just try to put some softer springs in. Do it once, do it right. Check out www.strutmonkey.com - they have lots of options - even a full OEM kit to bring your car back to stock.
