I need help with a factory radio code please!

    Hello,

I need help with a radio code for my fathers 2000 Z3. I don't have my resources anymore to located it and the "stealership" wants a hour labor rate even though I can bring them all the necessary information. Father lost the original document with the radio code

    Year - 2000
    Make - Z3 2.3
    VIN - WBACH9348YLM91594
    Radio Make - Blaupunkt

I appreciate the help and if I post in the wrong location, mods feel free to move the post.

    Thanks

Hi I had the same problem and I called my local dealership. Sandia BMW in Albuquerque. They gave me the code at no charge. You could try calling them. They don't need to know you are not local. Just a thought.

    Good luck

My dealer parts man does it free but I've done him minors favors as well. Service writers are salesmen in disguise and will usually want to charge you.
You'll need the radio serial number from either a tag or plate on the radio itself. If the radio code does correlate with the car's VIN(I'm certain the Germans made a record of it) it's not retrieved that way which makes the whole proving ownership of the car thing a bit silly. Radios sometimes got swapped, even before new cars were delivered.
