Buying a e36 with cluster change help

Hi i am new to this forums i just need some advice, i found a 1995 BMW E36 M3 on craigslist it is about 4600$. The pictures everything looked fine he showed the cons and everything it looks mint but the thing is that he says the car has 110k miles i was talking with him and , he said the original cluster crapped out on him and he couldn't see how fast he was going or gas nor temperature so he had to buy a new cluster which states 47,000 miles so he could see all of that again. i said ok do you have any receipts or anything that you can show me that shows that it was 110k miles he said no because its been 2 years i don't know if i should believe him or not if there was any way that i can check the miles before but i don't know how. i asked him about the title he said its clean but on the title the mileage says exempt to be honest ive been looking for a m3 for a while for around 4500$ and this one looks like its in good condition i will go see the car in a few weeks just to make sure but i would like to know if there is any way i can make sure im not getting something over 200k miles.

A 95 M3 with over 200k that is "mint" is better than a crappy one with 50k miles.....if it looks great, and has a maintenance history, who cares about the mileage for $4600?

If he has the old cluster you can jump power the pins and see the mileage when it was removed.

Any M3 for $4500 isn't going to be in good condition, imo.
