Not sure how long I have been ignoring it but just felt like it developed leaving work today. So it is most audible braking from 35 while in N or clutch pedal depressed, still audible in gear but not as much or violent. I can feel the car vibrate while driving. Can also be heard when driving at lower speeds too. I am thinking tie rods since the boots are torn and those have been clicking on bumps and maybe it just got that bad now. What says the community?

Check the tie rods for play.
Is this a periodic click, or random?

Random when driving around but nothing more than a few seconds of silence before it goes back to rapid clicking. Braking always does it.

So just to follow up. I replaced every single front end suspension piece except for the struts because second day of trying to figure this out, a bad shimmy developed to where it was unsafe to drive I felt. I think the shimmy developed because I thought it was rotors were uneven so I replaced them and the clicking persisted and I was braking hard to see if that did anything. So as I was braking I must have broken something in the suspension that was going out anyways because the shimmy developed the next day. When I replaced the front end and aligned it, shimmy is gone but clicking is still there. I should also now note that I feel a vibration not a shimmy at very low speeds. Any ideas now that the front end suspension is eliminated? I am going to try and replace the anti-rattle clips and caliper bushings because my cousin swears its the front and he heard the clicking when turning the wheels by hand on the lift.

Probably rear sway bar link for anyone curious. Replaced both and vibration severly reduced to barely noticeable. Going to try rear sway bushings and see if that will eliminate it entirely.

This is good for me, now that I'm chasing issues with my suspension, so thanks!
BTW, have you checked on your calipers pins and bushings? Sometimes a torn rubber bushing or rusted/pitted pins can introduce phantom noises on the rolling train.

I'd rather die or take a walk before driving an E60 or any BMW made after Y2K.
