    purchase ques

    I'm considering two cars:

    1 2008-135i with 50,000 miles premium package for 13,000

    2 2011- 128i with 29,000 miles but only 1,000 on replacement engine for 16,000

Both are being sold by dealers. Both are autos. Both are verts.

Car will be driven by wife and I and about 1,500 a month. I prefer the lowest long term cost of ownership having owned four E30's including two ix's and want to be done with scrounging parts and negotiating with mechanics and always needing repairs/maintenance.

    Any thoughts are welcome.

I have a 2008 135i that I absolutely love and was going to suggest that model to you, but after reading that you're looking for the "lowest long term cost of ownership"....get the 128i, esp since its a 2011 and with the N55 and not the N54 like in the 2008 models. The turbo on the 135i really ups the maintenance costs, so if that's the deciding factor; 128i it is. Best of luck!

Thanks that's what I've decided as well. Hopefully with a newer and lower mileage car I can read Pelican articles about what kind of wax to use or how often do I need to change the oil.

Hi, I may not be understanding what you're saying.... but isn't it the case that the 128i only has the N52 engine, regardless of year? Also has anyone else experienced issues with their keyboard space bar not working JUST on this website?? That's going on with my laptop right now, but not my phone, weird...
