You feel having the second turbo was causing the ringland carnage ? Or was the timing aggressive ?

IMO that old setup was less than ideal to begin with... from the manifolds, to probably turbos, etc.

Would have made it a very tricky car to tune well on pump gas

Yeah Butters, basicly all the Time Broke the sixth-fifth piston ringland, timing was stock, with stock cams. Cylinder pressure was so high In that setup, Including the bad manifolds, turbos n small DP's (2.25")

Notorius actually im glad I was running e85, those turbos maxed out Quick, around 12-14psi, btdc timing was boost around 20degrees. And it wasn't that smooth power curve, both turbos Came In around 4k and instantly hit the rev limiter with small Gears.

Creating New manifolds, DP's and lil big compressor housings would have helped.

This single turbo is 54mm intake/59mm exhaust so supposed To spool Quick, especially with divided exhaust housing.

So summer did come n go. Workd out perfectly, no issues whats so ever in engine, just Driving 5000km. Also got it legally registered for turbo in Finland
Little hiccups like broken u-joint in driveaxle, one pair of reartyres just basic S in Build car.

Middle of season i switched For bmw style 32's 17x8'' and 17x9'' E39 offsets...

    LIL tight with e46 brakes

    Just some random pics:

My Turbo and Friends Ex Biturbo whom engine i previously owned

    Interior updates:

So pretty good season. Know im thinkin switchn turbo to Borgwarner SX-e s257 or Sx-e 361, Both with 0.91AR exhaustside.... Actually dont know which better for 600hp And Extreme Spool with good midrange ....

What do u think Is 57mm better over 61mm turbo??

    Greetings from Estonia!
Love your car and the sleeper look. Great FI build too, early spooling and reliability is something I highly appreciate in turbo builds.

S257sxe will get you 550whp tops on 3.2L, i just changed to a s363 for my winter build. Id recommend the biggee turbo if you have goals of going past 500whp. If not s257sxe is perfect. Love the car nicely done.

Thx! Evryone , Just reacently ordered 9.0:1 DP pistons and 62mm SX-e with .91 AR exhaust side. With 62mm should come Not too laggy Spool and still Good amount of power upgrade. With 260-270 degree cams....
Goal is around 700hp For Future. And Block is going to be bored
to 85mm. Time for Build bottom end
    of course Cornfed with E85

    Boost levels about 25psi maybe

nice build, how has your single turbo w/stock bottom end build held up in the mean time, just getting bored with the power or did you blow the lower again?

Actually, no problems at all. Shattered one sparkplug cause Misfiring coil.
Kinda Bored with power and I thought it would be more reliable to Run build Low end.
Next year gonna use still stock bottom end and just enjoy.

More power is always nice, Ultimate goal is to get Great throttle response like Mine's R34 GTR. No so much power without control. Maybe around 600-800 would be nice.
That would also mean switchin tyres to Semislicks with square setup

62mm with .91Ar Turbo would give nice Low end or should I just buy 66mm with . 91Ar, both borgwarner-airwerks Are Same Prices.

I agree, more reliable and the ability to turn it up when you want to without fear. Im going to do the same this summer... Im just about to make a build thread here in a month of what I have going on, similar build s52 stock bottom with RSI topmount, Borg-Warner sx366 66mm inducer / exducer 73mm - RKtunes and Meth... figured id finish this build and get the car and myself used to boost while building a 2.8l side block..

Yea! Same turbo that i was thinking

Basicly my next engine is going to be M50B28
    M50 block, bored to 84,5mm
    Borgwarner S3xx SX-E
    S52 Cams
M52B28 Head with M50 Non Vanos springs, or PPF springs, Crmo retainers or Euro S50B32 depending on which ones are better avaible.
DP Forged pistons + ZRP con rods
    ACL race bearings
    Race chains
New M50 vanos oil pump, Welded nut+ Hot wire
    T4 top mount manifold, 3,5'' DP+ Exhaust

    Everything Nice...

    Long time build

I thought that I read that modifying cam timing aggressively like that can prevent the vanos from functioning correctly

What Are benefits of that timing ?

Engine breaths better, and also that timing gives more umph, which basicly leads to Faster turbospool.
with @1mm open i dont still have to worry about vanos travel, should work with full turn.

I have done a bunch of measuring and testing of different cams and cam timing and posted it in my Saturday's FI Solutions thread if you want more info. depending on which cams and which turbo on which size engine you will probably want to change your cam timing to optimize your set up. Most cams that are timed to the blocks are optimized for NA engines, not FI engines.

    Good to know.

Checked your thread out. Unfortunately, looks like all the photos have been removed or its been Photo Bucketed'd up.

I would to like adjust my cam timing slightly for FI but right now I'm just trying to get them back to stock profiling in order to sort the car out.
