So I have a 323i 2007 and I'm not sure if this problem is normal for BMWs. The steering wheel seems to be stiff and harder to turn than other cars, so much that it is hard to palm steer at all.
Regarding fuel consumption, I notice it is irrationally high and this could be caused by something wrong with my particular car. On the dash board there displays a number for how many km there is left before you run out of gas. This number decreases much faster than it should as I lose 30 km worth of gas even though I have only driven 5 or 10 km total. What might be the problem with my car in this situation?
Thanks!
I would start off by trying to get the codes read, it'll give you a specific place to start looking for issues. BMWs are known to have a fairly stiff suspension and that "German" feel. It may be as simple as needing to add some power steering fluid, or it could involve needing a new pump. There are a number of things that could be causing the steering and fuel economy, so having the codes will help a lot. Best of luck!

Thanks Dmitry, by codes do you mean getting a OBD?
I don't think any BMWs are designed to be palm steered. At least none that I have driven.
As for fuel consumption, do some mpg calculations between fill-ups. Have a diagnostic scan done.
The scan can indicate if (lean-rich) mixture issues are present, which affect fuel economy.
