Wassup BMW team... Just grabbed a x3 2004 with 109k for $4900 from an auction! I originally was lookin at a 525i with 190k for 1900 but plans change n the wife wins again lol... Any suggestions or heads up u guys can give me with this vehicle? I def wanna change the oil asap as I'm not aware if the last owner didn't reset the oil change reminder or if they really goin this long without changing it! With that being said is BMW full synthetic really the brand to go with or is there a compatible option? Thx in advance!
I would highly recommend going through the whole car, esp coming from an auction. If I remember correctly the X3 had a lot of issues before it's massive redesign in 2011. Synthetic Mobil 1, Castrol, or any of the name brand oils will work for your BMW. I've also attached a DIY tech article link for your X3, it should help you troubleshoot and resolve any issues that you may encounter. Best of luck!
