Are you buying this for your 98? You might run into fitment issues with the HVAC unit due to the CD changer being used with the radio you chose.

Do you have to be connected to Wi-Fi to be able to use the navigation? Same goes for the app that has the fuel consumption etc?

no
it works just like any navigation system
fuel is a app that has a thing that connects to car port

I don't mind paying the money for the radio The main concern is and was the DSP.
that one of the few radios that I know is plug and play with dsp

Fully loaded is not all the check boxes. Who need two back up cams, radio in brazil and europe, etc

everything lines up but one small issue maybe xboss can help. only one of the two holes line up and also need to get longer new screws to secure down the radio

update got the new screws and with those you can match up the holes and the radio sits flush

now to finish the set up I work long days and that why this is taking longer that what I Plan.
anyway The harness has being ran from the back to the front need to remove front seat to finish the wiring set up.
I remove the center console I am planning on removing the OEM harness since I don't need it anymore.
In the back all you have is the OEM amp everything else is Gone.
I plug the new radio antenna to the old OEM antenna and used the old navigation antenna to connect to the new navigation.
I will run the microphone to to the top by the mirror.

Impressive how smooth and responsive it is. Was wondering though. Does it communicate with the car directly? Can it display the trip computer data (fuel consumption, etc, set the time and date). Or does it do it only via that blue tooth connector?

it can via bluetooth via an app.
phone works great
internet works great
gps is on the money

unit works real well I have to learn the unit and works with dsp all plug and play

It does, you can do steering controls for example. That is canbus

Hey Franco, I see guys selling sd cards on ebay with premium maps to run on these type of units. How to you get net to it? Via your phones wifi or a 3g dongle?

I connect my unit to the web via a hotspot on my cell phone. you have options to get a Seicane Modem External 3G Module
for you car if you choice I am good with the wI fI FROM MY CELL.
The Maps I did not know they where selling them on line . that news to me
