I guess so...but whats weird is that the coolant temp was fine after changing the oil. Then started to go high when my radiator started to leak. Then i had to replace it and refill. Thats when temp started to go higher then normal.

Still debating if the Bar's is working or the system had air in it.

We can't deny that the coolant system is damaged.
Any attempt at a fix is just a Band-Aid. Use it as local transportation until failure, then unload.

Fresh oil probably removed some water contamination. I'd bypass the expansion tank and put in some stuff directly.

The Moroso stuff apparently works better as longer lasting band aid, so if you're still having compression issues I'd use it. https://www.amazon.com/Moroso-35500-.../dp/B000COU1TE

Oh ok. haven't done a compression test. The car seem to drive fine. I think It would run cooler if the aux fan was working.
Will check coolant level tomorrow and add if low then bleed again, and see how it runs.

The headgasket is the primary cause of coolant loss, radiator is secondary,
unless you have knowledge of something we know nothing about!

Hey guys um currently restoring a 95 750il. So far ive replaced the spark plugs, plug wires, all brakes and rotors, oil and filter, the complete front suspension and both cvv boots. Currently getting engine fail safe program on the dash but no CEL. Any clue what to do?

You should start a new thread.

Have you done transmission oil and filter?

So I checked coolant level this morning and it went down. The floating stick is at the bottom.

Do you have a rough idea of how much coolant you put in? IIRC when I put a new radiator in, the car took a little over 3 gallons of coolant to be completely filled.

well Yesterday i filled it up until it started to come out of the bleeder screw, then lost some when bleeding the system. Probably that's why its low, but didn't see "check coolant level" warning when I was bleeding the system.

Coolant was low today. topped off then took it on a test drive. Temp between 108-110, not but not getting heat. It blows warm ( not hot at all) air on 1 side and cold on the enter side.
Put it on ramp and opened bleeder screw to let some air out. Helped out a lil with the head but still not hot. The more I bleed it the stronger the air comes out but not getting hot.
Then the temp suddenly went down from 110 to 103 gradually. Then stayed at 104 for a bit then back up.
Turned the car off and done for the day.

Yesterday I had heat. Does this sound like a bad thermostat?

Sounds like a bad HCV. Maybe the Bar's clogged it?

Take it apart and clean it. One of the good things about the 12 is that it has it on the wheel wells and not behind the engine like on the V8.

That will make the temp go up and down like that?
Driver side air is lil warm. passenger side is cold

Split air temp is classic symptoms. 103 vs 110c wouldn't affect heater temps.

It's supposed to fluctuate, electronically controlled "smart" stats.

110C is still a tiny bit high, but that might be the aux fan not doing it's job. Compression test will tell the full story.

Got new aux fan, plugged it in, still not working. Am thinking maybe a fuse. Which one ?

Haven't done a compression test due to the location of the plugs being hard to access.

You turned Ac on to test the new fan ? what'd that cost you?

    - - - Updated - - -

and honestly i know ppl say 110 is not good but mine have always run right around there and ive never had problems and they had their cooling systems done over
110 is nothing to be concerned about. 113-115 how ever, is.

He can't. It's unique to the M73N, maybe the 73's 90C is interchangable. I'll take a look at the housing.

#12 is a pain, so you might want to replace them whenever you decide to check.
