Rear wiper is easy once you figure out that the top plastic part has a set screw and the top half pulls up as a unit to expose the nut holding the arm. The plastic part has a finger that extends all the way down so it will NOT twist off only straight up. Don't break the damn thing whatever you do. Once you get it (30 mins) the second time will take you 20 secs.

Enjoy all the efforts from the items on your list as it will bring you one happy wagon and owner.

I searched and searched all the postings to understand how it came off. Everyone said it lifts up and some mention a set screw that was 1" down the front that needed to be released before the cover would release. But never was there a mention of the stem that runs down from the cover into the mounting. The screw releases the stem.

Had it washed and then paid Sam's Club 39.99 to restore headlights. Very pleased to find out that these are Hella units with blacked reflectors

This is beautiful! So jealous of the heated sport seats and the M steering.

damn...if I didn't compliment you on that car before, I'm certainly gonna do it now ... that's really sharp. I kinda like the bright trim on the nav unit knobs. (unless I'm not seeing that right) Adds a little 'pop' to the dash. M5 trim rings on the gauges might tie that in nicely. Mine's an Individual...and has the piano black trim....but knobs are solid rubber types. Yours have the black headliner in it ??? That's a really sharp car inside and out.

There it is....my dumb @$$ was trying to take a picture out the back window of the snowy roads...too bright...(ugh...those seats look dry...I just Lexol'd them about a month ago too...)
...at least you can see the headliner....

    looks nice !!
Wow, that red leather is amazing.

I added E9x navigation knobs with the chrome trim. I had gauge rings on my old 530i, but don't want to go too crazy with this one. The M5 wheel, armrest, and seats were added in as well. No black headliner here.

Thanks a lot !! it's Cinnamon actually....just a shitty camera...lol... I may be wrong but I don't believe Cinn. was an option in the US e39's...even the M5. Again...I may be wrong. It did come in the 2003 e46 M3's...and later in the e60's...but this car was the only e39 we'd known with that interior... Again - I could be wrong there....

thanks again !! She's actually a euro car...

This car was a former client's back when I wrote service with BMW. They purchased it new in Bonn, Germany then brought it back and had it federalized. I've serviced it since new and (much to everyone's dismay at the dealership...insert evil grin here...) they always offered ME first right of refusal if they decided to sell it. Wonderful wonderful wonderful people. I cannot say enough positive things about them. I took ownership of it back in March of 2014...I had left the car business in 2012 but they contacted me one day asking if I would still like her. We still keep in touch and I send pictures and give status updates to the Mrs. quite regularly.

These photos are repeats of ones earlier in this thread...the interior shots were right after I got it...poor camera and leather needed treated. You'll notice the l/r wheel tucked up in that fenderwell...SLS system repair cost was their tipping point and why it ended up becoming mine. She's unique...and I absolutely LOVE the car...

Based on the fact that we have only achieved two pages in this thread, I have concluded that out cars are incredibly rare - maybe even more rare than the 540i M-Sport Touring / Wagon

Or most of the current owners are not on the site as the 525iT are more reliable as opposed to those oil leaking, chain slapping, antifreeze pissing V8 models....

Just a "Little Different" kinda like a "special needs" Car. No doubt that is was totally stripped then painted correctly so the door jams, under hood, trunk area are all orange now.... or is it just lite blue? This one makes me twitch and not in a good way.....

mines not an M-sport, but does have the sport package. Black over tan, i've replaced the stock headliner with charcoal Alcantara. M bumpers front/rear and M sport mirrors. those are not factory.

i think my car is sort of unique in that its extremely well optioned for a 525. it has everything but Nav and PDC, as far as standard factory options. Seemed sort of strange to have the cold weather package, premium package, hi fi, ski bag and no nav or pcd. the original order was maybe 4-5 grand from being totally loaded. Sport seats with heating and M steering wheels are some of the best parts of the car. i've sort of made it an msport clone.
