Hello fellow 525iT M-Sport Owners and Enthusiasts!
Welp.... I tried to play with the big boys with the 2003 M-Sport 540i Sport Wagon, but they didn't wanna play with lil ole me... LOL! So, on their advise I am starting a registry for the 525iT M-Sport or any other 6 Cylinder unique Wagons - unique as in from the factory Unique.
Let us create a registry for our rare BMW Tourings (Sport Wagon). I have NO idea how many 525iT M-Sports were made and no idea how many of those made were brought to the US. The numbers are probably larger than the 540i Touring worldwide - but as far as I know, very few if any made it to the USA.
Not sure what we will do with the registry. Heck! Not even sure if we will get up to 10 cars on here.... this might be a thread of One Car, One Post, One Response, etc.
So are you the proud owner of a 2003 525iT or similarly unique 6 Cylinder Wagon?
Does your friend own one?
Do you see one driving around town?
Did you see one at a show?
Join in the thread, let's at least make it more than ONE response or post otherwise the 540iT M-Sport guys will mercilessly make fun of me! LMAO!!!! Oh.... and to make our soon to be very long thread really special, all submissions of Wagons must be accompanied with a picture.

I don't have one nor do I know anyone. But decided to save you some embarrassment. So if anything your threads got 2 posts now!

So..... let's get on with the business of Wagons shall we?
Here is mine. She is a 2003 525iT M-Sport with a pretty cool history. She was owned by BMW AG and used as a test vehicle by the radio department, according to BMW. It came from the factory pretty much as shown in the picture and yes, she is Imola Red. I added the M-Mirrors.

The Response from BMW AG about this Imola Baby:
Dear Mr. Oxxxxxxxxxxxx,
Thank you for your messaged dated December 6th. Please excuse the delay in replying while we were investigating your concern.
Due to the age of the car we only have very limited information on the history of your BMW 525i. The car was taken over directly from the factory by the respective BMW department for radio testing. This is why the car was manufactured with the specification “S916 Development Vehicle w/o Conservation” as no conservation for shipping was necessary.
Unfortunately this is all we were able to find out. We do not have any information on the history of the car after it was sold by BMW due to data protection laws.
We hope we were able to clarify your car history a bit and we would like to wish you enjoyable driving with your BMW 525i.
Best regards,
Verena Dxxxxxxxxxxx

We can pretend that mine is a 2003 instead of a 2002, and that the M-sport bumper that is currently residing in a landfill was factory equipment

ok Aquila - I told you I was in !! (dude....that red still gets me...and the history is cool..!! )
Mine is a 2003 525 M-sport Individual - purchased new in Bonn, Germany by PO then brought to the states and federalized through JKT. I am second owner. She has the neat euro goodies. Full took kit with warning triangle, first aid kit mounted under right front seat, and rear fogs, and open brake cooling ducts. Individual Package - black headliner, NAV, Bluetooth, heated power seats, and manual adjust for the two-tone sport steering wheel. Fuzzy dice delete. Came factory on square style 66's with the spare being a style 66 as well. I have added window tint, yellow protective film on the front fogs, and the rear rims from a staggered set of 66's that I had (so I can be like the 540 guys..hehehe...). It now rides on 235/45's and 255/40's Conti DWS's and runs WS60 blizzaks for winter.

Wish I lived closer to go take a look at this one !!

Sorry. Forgot pics of my beast.
HAH! We are rolling... and I am out of the danger zone! Take that 540iT M-Sport Brethren. We are now have 5 Replies and at least three cars! Whoo!
I am adding that Kijiji car so others can see it. Maybe it was a bit more common in Asia where it came from, however over here it would be a pretty darn rare and cool car. I love the interior. Thanks for the post dohalloran.
Here are the dets and pics:
Well, as Michael knows there is nothing special on my base 525iT. So, I'll just follow you lads and figure what cool stuff I'll do with mine

Nothing crazy special with mine...base with cold weather and lighting package....oh and a manual transmission
Same - nothing too unique with my 01 Alpine White, but I find it personally peculiar how I have a heated manual front passenger seat.

Hey there !! Thank you SO much for the compliments. I'm pretty remedial...which is me saying I haven't tried to link my thread here for you...haha...so I have not learned how. its under "Euro E39 touring...noob to the forum..." There's a few more on there but I really need to get more pictures and post those up at some point. After a good cleaning of course...!! (hell, I washed the damn thing twice before my wife and I hit the wineries on Saturday...it was dirty again within minutes...!!) Aquila posting that he got the Imola car is what really prompted me to graduate from lurker to participant. Been fabulous so far.....everyone has been very cool...!!! I've also been meaning to take pictures of, and post, some of the import documents and spec sheet for it (just for kicks...). I was really hoping to be #2 in the "registry thread" but some of the regoolars beeeet meeeee to it...
Love the mileage numbers you posted. I've clocked some amazing numbers travelling...well...er....let's just say at speeds somewhere north of posted limits. If anyone is a cop - I'll deny it - no proof !!!

Adam you got it. I will shovel in as many squeaky fresh cheese curds as the wagon would take
Manual wagons are a little hard to find in my neck of woods. This one has some rough edges but I love working on these older bimmers.Things I am doing:
Basic Maintenance:
- Oil change
- Transmission and rear diff fluid change
- Top off coolant, brake and PS fluid
- Air filters
- Front wiper blades
- Clean and lube all locks and hinges
Not so basic
- R&R rear wiper pic - install new wiper arm
- All 4 shocks / struts
- Rear air springs
- Front sway bar links
- replace driver side seat switch
- drive belts
- replace side mirror glass
Some time in the future
- Fuel filter
- Valve cover gasket
- spark plugs
- Water pump
- Power steering hose
In my Dreams
- e38 heated steering
- e38 comfort seats
- rear sliding loading tray
- Euro style arm rest
PO already replaced the radiator, thermostat and the alternator.
