oh yeah, I wouldn't have guessed that. At least there is a fix. $$ fixes all! Are you going to make your turbo headers yourself?

I will build them myself, they will be more of a manifold style. Not a long runner header style.
Just to save room, I also think they will flow just fine for some pretty serious power levels. It seems pretty easy to make over 700whp on a setup like this. Not that I need that kind of power.

yeah, a lot of people use the truck manifolds backwards and upside down in other cars for turbo projects on LS cars. Should work great and be significantly l less work.

I was thinking something like this. A bit of a flowing log manifold but not a full header.

Turbos will behind the headlights I think. Setback far enough to have decent filters is the hope.

I dont think i would run primaries so large.. those look like 2" or something.

I also really dont like the angle of 4/8. The sonic pressure wave will definitely be felt across the other cylinders and considering youll have such little separation its going to be more important

How big is the head port?

Even at 800whp those are only flowing 400whp each, a 1.5" primary would be sufficient.

And the log type is pretty good for a 4cyl bank. Its hard to really do much better since the cadence and position of the pulses is hard to balance..

I like how they step in size though.

The smaller ones off the flange are 1.5" sch 10 pipe. So they OD is 1.9" but inside its way smaller. Then they feed int a 2" main body. So they look bigger than they are because of the wall thickness.

Why not run the Z3 compressor with a custom bracket and lines?

thought about that, but this compressor is pretty small. Also the old compressor is 15 years old.

Had to massage this CTS-V bracket fpr some more room, the room for a filter was looking too tight. Drivers side is going to be tight, passanger side will just be mirrored, tons of room on that side.

definitely going to be tight with the snails in there but I'm sure all the blood sweat and tears will be worth it in the end.

Have some blood and sweat in there so far. Could of been some tears when i dropped the money on the T56 magnum and RXT clutch

As for space I pretty much think it’s goong to be fine now.... only thing that is bugging me is fishing down the 3” down pipe bast the abs pump. Didn’t want to move it. Haha

I would just ditch the abs and make your own lines and use a proportioning valve. That's what I did in my 95 RX7

Wish I had the patience skills for that kind of fabrication. Very nice.

Keep the ABS. I wish I had. The money spent of flat spotted tires would have more than covered the time, effort, and expense to keep the pump in play.

Got the down pipe and manifold material, should have some turbos hung in the next week.

    Headers

Prior to finish welding, I'd strongly recommend bolting the header to the head. Sched. 40 stainless "walks, warps" a LOT when you weld it. Nice work, it's going to be a beast.

This is sch 10 but yeah it pulls. Wish i had a spare head to bolt it to, normally i clamp or bolt it to my table. Some times i even shim the center of the flange to put a bow in it the opposite way of the way it pulls.

the 1/2" thick flanges also help.

You can probably find a junk head for cheap or free if you post on LS1Tech, CL, etc.

A little effort in finding a head now might save a lot of aggravation later.

Looks like PRL flanges. That's what my friend/fabricator used on mine. FYI, Vibrant now makes stainless flanges if that kinda thing is up your alley, however they're only 3/8" thick and don't have a counter-sink cut for easy pipe centering. I think the PRL flanges are probably the best, but they do/will rust.

The flanges are going to warp a bit no matter what, even if they are welded on a heatsink. Mine were flattened on a industrial grade belt sander afterwards.

Your turbo placement looks good, that's around where mine are. Mine are a bit farther forward to allow easier routing of Cylinder 1/2 runners and still allowing 3" downpipes to route underneath. Pushing yours forward would put the turbo exhaust housing near the power steering pulley/serpentine belt though...which is what I ran into, and is why I run electric power steering.

sdobart yep same flanges, i dont mind mild flanges because they tend to warp and move around less. I think the thermal expansion of stainless is 60% more than mild steel.

Everything is just tacked up, just a simple (flowing) log style manifold. really each bank just needs to flow 400whp a log should have zero problems with that. I like building headers however just not a ton of room.

Got one side hanging on the manifold, moving on to the next. not looking forward to grafting the other runnier into this log.
