That would never work for me. My wife is an accountant. The key is to keep the charges below $100 that way it will fly under the radar

Whoah accountant; do you have to submit a purchase request form for anything over $500? just messing

Need a second set of books lol; see it only cost "this" much baby.

Helps me plan an outline. I start with a initial sheet and start adding to it. Eventually I'm usually flying by seat of pants but it's expected. Would be easier to plan if the build was OEM style . So for now an outline and color in the box helps compartmentalize. I could have OCD, but beer helps.

    Trust me its not easy

    1. PMP (project master plan)first for approval
    2. RFP- request for proposal : i had to submit issued for construction specs and drawings accompanied by estimates

    3. Submittals for each component
    4. Anything above 300 needs to be directly approved by wife.

So far project is coming along

I am still waiting for my turbo.
Yesterday i got my ebay IC piping. Intercooler is coming tomorrow. Next Saturday i will pick up my flywheel.
I will have to fit the engine in the bay to figure the IC position and plumbing. Make all necessary brackets and pull the engine again and paint the bay.

No coilovers yet. I have some tubular front arms and e28 setup going on on my other e21 i just need to finish it. Medium diff and a 5 lug swap. But that is scheduled for the next winter.

    There was some progress lately.

I put the motor back in to figure out intercooler piping, radiator brackets and wiring.

I also test fitted Volvo calipers.
I will need to slot em a little to fit properly.

And the last thing i finally got my flywheel back.

I still need to order arp clutch cover bolts.

    5/16-18 x 2.00" will fit perfectly with 0.120" washer.

Borg Warner supposed to ship the turbo to AGP today. We will see they were pushing the ship date for almost a month now. If everything goes well i should have the turbo early next week.

I also started wiring harness and i found that i have wrong type of size 12 terminals for my amphenol bulkhead connector.

    Things left to do.

    Brakes
    Eurometric bushings
    Wiring harness
    TO bearing setup
    Engine bay paint
    IC piping
    Exhaust

And probably another bazillion of small things.

So i got rid of the stock temp gauge and replaced it with Wideband.

I also tapped stock water/coolant neck to accept 3/8-18 npt to accept gm clt and autometer temp sensor.

My turbo finally shipped. Its arriving this Friday.

Plan for this week is to finish wiring. Figure out the TO bearing and add boost control to
    Megasquirt

Looking very good. I particularly like the cluster/temp gauge work you did.

    Thank you sir.

I continued with the wiring today.

I installed the bulkhead and started working on the wiring harness. I thought that i have red and yellow 18ga wire but i could not find any. But most of the wires are sorted and laid out correctly. Just need to pull couple additional wires for the ignition, injectors, pwm idle and boost control power.

I am also looking for triple fuse blocks.

nice harness work! be sure to shield that braiding when melting the heatshrink. that stuff will melt as fast as saran wrap if it gets hot.

Its actually fairly heat resistant. Ill cover i tho just in case before shrinking.

I need to order fiberglass version of this expandable sleeving for the hotter areas of the engine bay.

    Started some intercooler plumbing.
Since i am going with my favorite diving boards i had to figure out how to route the ic pipes.

So this is what i came up with.

Disregard ugly red coupling i will swap it later. This is the only 90 degree reduction coupling i had lying around.

Bumper shock brackets had to be relocated for the ic tubes to clear.

So the front valence will not fit with 2.5" pipe going under us bumper shock.

So i employed an angle grinder and a cutoff wheel. I cut area marked in the picture below.

    Than i boxed it up.

Worst thing could ever do is ADD it all up and keep track. I've a spread sheet to see "how bad it is" but try not to use it as a basis of perspective. If you add the hours of labor time just throw the sheet out the window It's for the fun of it anyways.
I can second this! I gave up keeping track about six years ago.

    More wiring.

Tps, crank trigger, clt, temp gauge and oil dummy light.

I still have to wire the fusebox end, idle valve and boost solenoid and coils.

I will need to make the ls coil bracket to make a clean installation.

Also i found that the e36 318 radiator will not fit even with the slim fan.

I am going to run civic half width 2 core which will also leave some space for the oil cooler.

Water pump to fan clearance or lack of it.

Some sheetmetal work to fit the intercooler.

Heatshield, civic radiator and 1.5" ss pipe for the dump.

Also made a prototype ls coil bracket.
