Hey guys,
New to Bimmer Forums, but looking forward to being a member of a great online community!
Over Summer I bought a 2008 320i, which I love. However I'm thinking of getting a silencer removed as it's not particularly loud and I could do with a bit more volume!
I'm no mechanic so I need a bit of advice on what to go for:
- Should I get the CENTER silencer removed or the REAR silencer?
- Should I get a Resonator removed too?
Here's what the car sounds like at the moment:
(Will update once I've had the procedure done on Friday)
The mechanic I've been chatting to recommended removing the center silencer as he reckoned removing the rear one might make it overly loud. However, I am a 24 year old male and a loud car is what I'm after! I just don't want to be disappointed with the end result.
Please let me know what your thoughts are! If removing a rear silencer is a stupid idea then please take me down a peg! Also would be great to know if I should remove a resonator and what effect that
Many thanks,
Dan

Removing the "resonator" will
Make it louder. But take into consideration you will have a check engine light when the job is done and your MPG will drop a muffler delete sounds. A muffler delete sounds perfect in my opinion here's a couple videos of mine 1st video being a cold start 2nd being at idle

Great man, ty for the advice.
Think I'll go for a rear muffler delete. Would still like to hear some more opinions!
