I have Vogtlands on my 540 and with Billies the ride was terrible. Swapped them out for Konis and it made a HUGE improvement in ride quality. Don't even bother with Billies, IMO. Not worth it.
^For the purposes of this thread it's helpful to state the model of Bilstein; though I'm guessing they were Sports
I just installed Vogtlands with Koni Yellow's last night, actually. The ride is AMAZING. Stiffer than stock, but not uncomfortable. I set the rears at 1/2 turn from full soft, fronts at 1/2 turn from full soft. I have already put 100 miles on them, and so far it's PERFECT. I am very happy.

Driveways will be difficult, M-kay?

Well I got all the parts on the car! Way better ride!!! 10/10. Sits nice and low and eats railway tracks up. No problems
Week off work, 4 cases of Sleeman Draft, lots of buds, went together like butter. What a well built car.
Set backs were I rounded a stud, ABS sensor bolt was rusted out(cut the wire), rusted out spindle bolt wouldn't go back in all the way(had to use a washer until I get a new bolt.)
The rears were a breeze out and in.
$520 KYB SHOCKS/MOUNTS 4
$140 VOGTLAND SPRINGS 4
$30 NEW STUDS, BOLT,
CDN$$
Now I need to get the big snow tires off.
i had to get rid of the volvo lip mounted like that as it scraped everywhere
We have these dumb speed bumps on a few side streets so I tested the car there and no problems no contacts.
Hey Hoff when you put the wrong top hats on what were the effects? I put the wrong top hats on mine and im thinking thats why the car isnt as low as it should be
it was a little bit higher, but mostly it bottomed out the struts everywhere. It sucked to drive to the point i wondered why people did this.
Yeah i have the v3 mounts and koni shocks that are supposed to match with the v2 mounts (86411224KT)....oops. Ride is harsh and bottoms out but car seems to be about 2" higher than it should be, so hopefully it lowers more and i should be expecting a big difference in ride quality after i change to v2
I got on my e34 in the front Bilstein shocks and in the rear e39 Bilstein shocks. the car feels perfect for me. I always had problems with the rear shocks till i installed the e39 ones. they are perfect on the car and it doesn't look low in the back anymore. it look perfect for a completely stock e34. My car is completely stock which is very rare in my country and she looks perfect and her condition is perfect
