    2003 Z4 Trunk Storage

Just purchased my Z and the trunk is in disarray. I have a feeling that things are suppose to fit together nicely in this trunk. Under the carpet I have a plastic cover that doesn't seem to fit nicely over the battery. No clue where the tool kit goes, and at this point I'm assuming the black leather manual case should also go in the trunk? Which means I shouldn't put my registration and insurance card in there.

Would anyone mind taking a few pictures of the proper storage methods from the battery up?

Greatly appreciated. I RTFM to no real avail and tried searching here.

I think I figured things out a bit, but still have a couple outstanding questions if anyone could clue me in.

What was making me confused was that this piece was laying in the trunk over the battery:

I finally figured out that it is not a cover, but a divider. My battery was not installed squarely into the compartment and the person could no longer fit the divider in. So I straightened out the battery and installed the divider:

The few remaining questions I was hoping someone help me with:
    1) I seem to have one extra tie down screw, it's the same length and size as the bottom long screw. There is a bolt hole to the left of the battery. I first assumed this was for batteries with a slightly different tie down configuration, but the bolt does not fit into the threads. What goes in there?
    2) Is the box in front of the battery an amplifier? This is not in the manual, but it looks like an amp.
    3) Where in the world am I suppose to store the leather book with the owner's manual? It doesn't seem to fit into anything in this vehicle.
    4) Is this little compartment with the velcro for anything specific? Old style cell phone? BMW notepad?

    Thanks

Do I have to reach a certain number of posts for my images to show?

This is the imgur album: http://imgur.com/a/AaB2A

Edit - need 10 posts and 7 days. I guess I'll update the thread in a few days. It's not like my trunk is going anywhere.

The owners manual doesn't fit neatly anywhere in particular. I have mine in the well on the right side of the trunk. Not sure what the velcroed slot is on the center storage bin door. Must have changed at some point as my 06 has the depressed area, but no velcro strap.

There is room for the manual in the storage compartment aft of the gear shift between the seat backs, but it takes a bit of wiggling. Every other car I have ever owned had a glove compartment in front of the passenger seat. Why BMW figured we did not need this feature, I will never know.

Yes, but it's very small. It's pretty far down. I'm pretty tall and it's still quite a stretch for me to reach the lever to open it.

I also cannot find a suitable place for the owner's manual, so I keep it in the left corner of the trunk.
