I used the ones from California Car Cover as it is light weight and 100% protective. You will need an extra long bungee cord for the middle as long wagons mean air lift in high winds, other wise you will be seeing your cover give a rendition of Dorothy's house in the Wizard of Oz.

Dood! Cool man! I'll figure out a schedule with you on when I'll snatch them up. I've been stupid busy tearing down my old snot wagon, it's getting junked today. Was working out in that torrent today, brought my pop up tent, it saved my butt, but still got wet no matter what, I don't want to ever have to do that again. Yesterday was beautiful, I had fun tearing the car apart outside in that weather! I still have my toolbox over there at the shop, tomorrow, I gotta get a big truck with a lift, get all that stuff home, and I wash my hands off of the shop. Then I will have all the time in the world to play with my cars, with pay! Thanks for posting that parts list as I needed the part numbers for the caliper seals, I'll be rebuilding the 540 calipers and the rear calipers on the snot wagon part duex. Thanks for those rotors! I had thrown the old 540 rotors I had on the old wrecked wagon onto the wheel balancer at the shop when I was still working there, spun them and hit them with a 4" biscuit mounted onto a die grinder and scrubbed the light layer of rust off of my old new rotors that had sat outside on the wreck for over two years, man time flies! Lol, I also pulled the rear brand new/old Zimmerman rotors off, the one from the wrecked side has about 6 inches of rotor missing, FCP said send it in, so I'm sending it in.

Yeah man! Tony! Move out here! There’s a nice clean 540 wagon that’s been in the local NOVA Craigslist that’s been for sale for a small while, like $5900 or something stupid like that, it’s not bad, has M bumpers front and rear, aftermarket 19” not so bad looking wheels but I would get rid of them, you already have a staggered set of 66’s black interior, titan silver exterior.scratch that, it sold. Too bad, it only had like 110,000 on the clock.
Here’s a nice clean 525iT in Royal Red Mettalic, not too many of those, but it’s got 155,000 on the clock but looks pretty clean.

Hey Tony! I found that 540iT listing I was talking about, it is listed in the wheels and tires section of the local Craigslist.

525it looks like the better deal. That 540 with the dubs is sketchy.....
Well, if the dude is telling the truth, what little bit he said, might be a good car. Says he’s got records, it looks really clean, the wheels, I’d yank them off and stick one of the sets of wheels that I have laying around, either 65’s or 66’s, sell those wheels to some other freak, Clifton is a pretty well to do area here in the NOVA area, it’s about 20 miles from where I am. Cars been on there for a month, in the wheels and tires section, probably why it hasn’t sold. The Clifton area has some really nice backwoods roads, roads that my crazy friends and I always terrorized on with our motorcycles. Henderson Rd, lots of nice curves and had a stretch That we would actually get up to at least 150mph, on one section, there’s a culvert that crosses the road, and if your doing at least 75, you’re catching at least 5 ft of air with a very nice smooth landing, same with being in a car. Love that area. I should go check that car out. But just like Stephen, I Need another E39 like I do another butthole. I actually have a potential buyer for Poolman’s 525 wagon that I bought to find a good home for. Sell that, my brother is picking up the 540, maybe sell the Cooper, then find a deal on a rust free E28, running engine need not apply.

That was from CLIFTON< NJ, up near Paterson, which is north of NYC.... turkey...

NJ??? WTH? It came up on the NOVA freakin Craigslist. New Joisey? Screw that car, gotta be something wrong with it then. That 54,000 mile wagon is clean, but he needs his a$$ kicked for the M logo on the tailgate, along with the m colored grill in front.

Been locked down in Wuhan flu madness, gotten bad that everything sits undercovers waiting for somewhere to go. Re bleed the brakes and activated the abs mode which released another bloop of air from the left front caliper brake line to resolved my weird pedal feel completely. Now it feels solid and allows easy pedal modulation no matter the speed or stopping power required.
treating all the leather once again as it is an annual practice. Sport seats look great with treated leather.
Next big project will be shocks and struts followed by oil pan gasket and the refresh of the entire oil separator system wear parts - seals, hoses, throttle body gasket etc.

Christmas has come a little late for the wagon but the following has been ordered to complete the suspension refresh. Winter on the east coast is ice and sleet so everything is either in the garage and covered or covered in the drive way, waiting for the salt monster to go away.

Stephen’s standards are everything needs to be perfect. And he has fun doing everything, win win! Wish I had half his motivation.
Set the controls for the heart of the sun
Who says/thinks I am retired? I work 48-50 hrs per week. Playing with cars is like a mental rest period. Speed shine everything, treat and clean every part and reinstall. End result is cleanliness. I just wish I had a four car garage so I could work on three at one time and wash the daily in the fourth bay. With the covid red death shut downs nothing is open, so I play inside.
I just pulled off my M5 wheels and cleaned and treated the wheel well liners, cleaned each wheel inside and out, cleaned up the hubs, wiped off each lug nut, speed shined the calipers of brake dust, and reinstalled the wheels. It takes approximately 30 hrs to get the M 5 ready for a concourse event. My lovely wife calls the event a "beauty contest" for cars. She is going to enter her 528 this year just to make people go nuts that a grocery getter version E39 is cleaner than their hi-po versions. Ha ha She won third place last time she entered. The judges were just amazed.
The wagon has racked up approx 30k in the last 4 years and now stands at 127k shocks and struts were toast at 110-120k.
