Limp Mode Reset

I recently purchased a 2002 535i for my son to drive for school. Runs and handles great, but slipped into "limp mode" last night. Previous owner said its a simple reset, but not having any luck. Would like to get it at least reset to where I can get it fully checked out.

Hey There Otter. I have a 2000 528i and I've had my car go into limp mode a couple of times. In the manual it says that of that happen to you, pull over, put the car in park and put up the e-brake and shut the car off. Wait about a minute or two and then start the car again. That'll reset the system so that you can start driving normally again. What I would do is bring it to a mechanic that specialises in BMW and have the tranny checked out. Thats what I would do

Check tranny fluid and filter... It probably wasn't change. I learned it the hardway. Change it ASAP before your tranny gives out.
