The bigger turbo will likely be about 400 rpm behind the medium turbo, which could be 50+ lbs rwtq or rwhp at a given rpm. You will see this most in the 2500-4500 rpm range. From about 4500 to about 5500, the two will be comparable. From 5500 to 7000, the big turbo will make more power and torque.

If your goal is a highway pull car, and you don't mind downshifting to get the rpm up, the big turbo is the one. Same goes if you are just a street racer, since your racing will pretty much always have you above 4000 rpm, even after a shift. But for daily driving, a responsive turbo is a lot of fun and you will spend a lot more time enjoying the boost because it is more accessible.
Thanks for this. After your explanation I may be better off sticking with the GT35R. I plan to track (road course) the car frequently so early spool is one of the goals.

If 550-600 tops wheel is all you're looking for and you don't mind running race gas or E85 than GT35r is your boy. If looking for more, or will be running pump gas, but still want that 550-600 HP figure than 40/94R or EFR9180.

Honestly if you wallet can afford it than for a road racing application or quick spool street set up the EFR will do it! It is the newest technology out on the market, but you pay for that. Super light weight Gammi Ti wheel along with the newest compressor aero out front.

Everyone that has gone from a precision or garrett that I know of to an EFR of the same size said they made about the same power, but the transient response was noticeably different.

So I don't know your budget, but if you did have money then the 35R and 40R should be off the table and either the EFR83 or the EFR91 should be the choice.....which honestly for a 3.0L or bigger a 9180 should be used.

I have run both the EFR8374 and the EFR9180 on my 99M3 and they are both excellent. For 600 rwhp on 93 pump plus meth, the EFR8374 would be the better choice. Incredible response and it can do more than 600 -- CES got 715 rwhp out of one on a built motor with cams running race gas at 25 psi. The EFR9180 is the choice if you want much more than 600 -- CES got 860 rwhp out of one on the same motor on race gas at 32 psi.

My take is that my 0.92 EFR9180 on the twinscroll steedspeed manifold spools about the same as my 0.82 GT3582R did on an open boostlogic manifold.

I plan to run E85 with the build, and 550-600whp is really the most I'm looking for. On the track I plan to boost control down to 400-450whp tops, for now at least.

I'm gonna stick with the GT35R for now

Smart, a 35r will make 600 on pump all day. But, don't ask for more.

awesome build... Im a huge fan of the 4094R great choice i used to run a 35R as well and 4094R is the best thing I did, I even prefer it over the EFR turbos. My 4094R spools almost as well as my 35R did very small difference!
Ill take top end power all day as long as between shifts im not falling out of boost. I somewhat don't understand why so many people are worried about torque at 2-3K but that my opinion.

They don't know how to downshift. Real reason is the internet says they should.

I got a s366sxe and heard that the sxe line doesn't whistle like that old sx version. Haven't gotten it installed yet but I'm kinda sad cause my 256sx howled like a mf. It was sweet..

Those hood vents, do they install in a specific spot in the hood or can i put them where ever?

They would be perfect for me if i can mount them about 4 inches closer to the front of the hood/car.

Ps your hood vents are the best looking ones I've seen, like ever. Not easy to pull off on a car that isn't black/has CF hood.

yes, you can mount them closer to the front. Not much though. The fins stick down towards the engine about 1/2 inch.

It looks like you’re enjoying your 4094r with the 1.06 hot side... maybe 750wph is possible with a larger exhaust???? I’m too wanted to know what size hot side AR you were running, and found this info... clean build and great numbers. !

I could have gone with more boost. The 681 rwhp was with 24 psi.. Decided to leave it as is until I convert to 3.5" exhaust pipe
