Cautious Concern Regarding Rate for Services!!!

Good day, this may not be the authorized group chat for this inquiry but, nonetheless it fits my description to some answers I'm looking for. I recently serviced my vehicle at a bmw fields location, and upon studies my vehicle needed a maintenance of a new belt tensioner, dmtl pump and oil leak repair. I came across some studies regarding these particular items. Mindful of the fact, that BMW's are legitimately computerized systematical vehicles. However, the charge to which all functions of repairing my car came to an estimation of $2500.00. I'm not a technician, I'm not a specialized BMW mechanic, but it just doesn't seem reasonable. Even with the labouring, taxes, I mean the prices for those parts together does not even round to $1,000.00. How can that be so? Am I lacking knowledge on the ratio of dealership prices, intuitively can it be because of my ethnicity, not embarking racial slur. It just doesn't seem right and my intuition tells me, "this doesn't seem right?" Any answers, knowledge that can be granted to know whether to just go with the process or not allow them to scam me!!!

Find an independent specialist to service your out of warranty car. A dealer's service dept. is usually THE most expensive place for service, this is no secret. You had the option to shop around.
Also, it isn't wise to estimate the amount of time a task should take unless you have some notion of how it is done. I could provide a long list of inexpensive parts that take hours to install.
Lastly, get the ethnicity chip off of your shoulder. It is expensive to repair any modern car, especially at an authorized dealership, regardless of race.
Alternately you can learn to service your own car.

An independent shop should be cheaper, the dealer for the most part will be the most expensive. But if you can't work in it yourself then you will pay someone some where to do it. Automotive repair techs get more shit about how much it cost to repair stuff. Does the dentist have a coupon, the plumber, the roofer, carpenter, no. So if you want your car repaired by a guy who has a family, a house payment ect, then you will have to pay them what their worth.

I'm glad there's some people out there who realize that.
