2003 BMW M3 Reverse light not working

Hello,

This is my first post on this forum. I own a 03 M3 SGM transmission and my reverse light are not working. I found a few threads for a standard transmission but nothing for a SGM.

The rear distance sensors work great and the passenger side mirror tilts when I put the car in Reverse. I also changed the light bulbs but no luck.

Any help will be appreciated!

The SMG or sequential manual gearbox was a standard transmission on automatics. Which standard transmission are you referencing? Thank you for the links. I already changed both reverse light bulbs but had no luck.

I was referring to a 5 gear manual transmission.

I'm a bit confused - the SMG is a "clutch-less" transmission; meaning that it's automated and not a physical manual one that you apply . Do you mean the reverse lights don't work when you put it into manual mode?

I would start with getting a helper and while the car is in reverse, testing your taillight board/plug (with a multimeter) to make sure you have 12V going to it. I'd be sitting in the trunk vs standing behind the car if I were you
