I've heard stories of busted knuckles and cursing streaks when it comes replacing the Fuel Tank Vent Valve on an E39/M54.
I got a quote, installed for $150 at our local indie BMW shop. (Genuine BMW Vent Valve).
Sounds pretty fair to me. I'm already taking on Cam Position Sensor, O2 sensors, Upper intake boot and driver's window regulator.
Maybe cut this one loose to the shop? OR???
Many thanks y'all!!!
If you are referring to #1 here, I would try to tackle that myself.

The valve is behind the LR fender liner. The liner can be difficult to R/R, unless you have very strong hands.
