Hey guys. Currently working on a car which won't release from park. It's also a no crank no start (was in an accident. No air bag deployment). Dash lights come on etc. but the car does not respond otherwise.
I've done some research, found some cars have the release tool (this one does not), and that they can now be released electronically.
I've only found 1 thing stating how to do it,
1: attempt to start car
2: select neutral twice
3: hold in neutral for 5 seconds
But that procedure did not work. Not sure if it requires the brake to be on or off etc.
Any info would be awesome.
Also. Something to keep in mind, the car is OUTSIDE in sub zero temperatures, so diagnosing/dvom will be limited.
I've checked the block on the power cable. And the battery sensor on the negative cable.
That procedure almost never works. I have only been able to get it to work once, on an F30. Jack up the car, remove the transmission underbelly panel, and use a 5 mm allen to screw in the park release screw. It's on the driver side of the transmission.

Cool. Thanks for the response.
Im assuming it's the only 5mm Allen on the driver side of the trans?
