Hey all. I recently bought a 2008 335i and have enjoyed the rear tires right off of it.
It's currently setup with run-flat tires on staggered 18" wheels. I moved to LA (potholes) and enjoy exploring southern California backroads (uneven, lose surfaces, sometimes snow), which is rough on 255/35/18 tires. I don't mind sacrificing ride comfort for handling, but I worry about bending the rims or jarring the super-complicated-and-expensive-to-repair convertible top on a 9 year old car with 78k miles.
The rear tires need to be replaced soon (it's a manual 335i...) and I'd like to add a 17" wheel setup with all-season touring tires.
Any recommendation for a wheel/tire setup that can handle some light adventure driving? I like the look of wheels with a contrast lip but haven't seen anything like that on a 17" wheel. Hey, gotta look good even in the middle of nowhere.
Here it is, excuse the dirt –

I have a 135i and personally didn't like the run-flats. I have Hankooks on my car and love the feel (handling could be a bit tighter, but no real complaints). I think the 328 comes with 17s, have you thought about getting the M-sport wheels from one of those?
