Have any of you run 215/65R16 for winter? Diameter is the same, but I'm wondering if that's going to be enough tread on the ground for a 750

I had 215/65R16 as winter tires, not much traction even for my 730

Snow tires with traction control on that size tire is fine. I was running with a full tank of gas and 4 bags of salt in Philly back on 2011.

It is a great car she drives daily, we just took it with our kids to the outer banks. Since owning we've replaced the starter, one coil, steering components and thrust arm bushings. My wife is the daughter of a retired army colonel, space camp graduate, doctorate holder to suggest she can't fix something is an act of war!

Fixed my wagon a little bit.
-Front wheel bearing SKF
-Engine motor mounts both
-Wishbones
-Intercooler piping, previous owner did quite an bad job fitting it, wasnt even tied.
-Engine oil Longlife

Left to do is serpentine belt and a few rollers.

My muffler delete was making me physically ill from the drone. Had a pair of Borla XR-1 mufflers installed today. Huge improvement.

Took her for a drive, first time since I bought it (April 2017), a work in progress with the most immediate to diagnose / repair is the scary knock at low speed over bumps and the trepidation at 50 mph without touching the break pedal.

I have two Gibson Chambered mufflers with rear brackets welded t the mufflers that will bolt up to the rear e38 hanger points.... Anyone interested give me an email or pm. I ran them for two weeks and replaced with my current M6 mufflers. They are 2 1/2 in/out.

Hello,
It's my setup, on the E38 740 , Here in France, And...

I'm very please with this, on winter time
No too much sleep on ice, and acceptable traction power on the snow,
But it's an heavier car , don't forget !!
And so, this not a miraculous setup, anyway...

On dry road, it's a pleasant combo, due to less weight of the wheel/tyres.....compare to 18" OEM wheel, and biiiiiig tyre size.
I mean, the brake are more effective, and the power is more effectively transmit to road.

But....
i manage the rear tyre to sleep when i push the gas pedal on , even in third gear !!
A lot of understeer , and roll effect is present on the beginning of turn
And, it makes muchhhhh squealllllinnnng noise ....!!!

I have a 740 sport with black interior but that came with the Gray pillars/headliner. I used flat-knit black fabric with 1/8" foam backing, from WLS.
