and sadly no old BMW anymore, only high powered Seat Leon Cupra 4Drive as a daily driver.
Did some diagnostics on my Trifecta lights situation - all 4 wheel sensors tested OK (similar and appropriate results for all 4). Module will be off to BBA tomorrow.
Also installed new fan shroud, as the prior one was cracked. The radiator looks like it's a few years old so I'm probably going to order a new one for peace of mind purposes.
No sense of selling E38.
And Omega is bought to have fun with it, make something we wouldnt ever do to our cars with my friend.
Much more money went into it (e38), I can maybe get 5000€ of it by selling.
Will stay as a hobby car.
But 530d E39 universal with original M-sport is just good enough to be daily.
Or I am thinking about Volvo XC70 but we dont have that much snow in the winter, so kind of useless.

Quick question. I have zenith rad and the car has never had an issue with over heating. I had driven 35 minutes or so and had to park and idle in a sweltering car lot. Hundred degrees out and the a.c. was cranked up. Working fine for about 25 minutes then the engine temp moved slowly but progressively to 3/4.
I turned up the heat and turned off the a.c. and drove out of the lot for 5 minutes, heat came down but I didnt want to test it, and left. 35 minute drive home and no prob found.
So what happened?

That's a bit strange, make sure your coolant is full and bled. I had my 740 near 3/4 idling in 95* with AC on for 20 mins while waiting to get into a car meet, solved it by blasting heat like you did. Unless it was very slow driving, usually the can moving is enough to keep it cool

Aux fan blues, I'm in the same boat time for e39 fan. Need to see if it's working. Purplecty gave a great link on my aux fan thread last week. Otherwise I would say your fan clutch is probably going bad. If you can increase air flow and it instantly starts to cool off it's a safe bet that one or both fans need attention

So I bought E39
Little small things to fix, but got it for a grand cheaper than he wanted for it.
