I have another visitor from the east - JL's Mini. We are going to do a little modding... This is an '08 S with 13K miles, he has now had for 5 years. An idea on how much he drives it - when I picked it up last week we had to put a new battery in it since it had not been driven since November.
Going to put a new exhaust from manifold back - new down pipe with performance cat then larger pipe performance package, no I ma not going to make this one. Then a tune and maybe an intercooler if he ever makes up his mind. Should boost the hp a little - maybe 75-80 hp.
They are fun to driven now can't wait for this....

Replaced my radiator this weekend. Out with the second Behr in three years and in with a Nissens. Successfully bled and back on the road. Thought I would change brands and see if I can change my luck.
Change your coolant to Evans waterless and prolong the failure - no pressure with Evans.

Or an 88c thermostat...lowers pressure and temperature significantly. Alternator will be much happier too.
or get the Zionsville kit.....you're already half way there with just the cost of the 3 rads....
Almost drove across town for the Zionsville product, but didn't really want to spend $1,300. Max replaced one under warranty so only out about $350. May consider Evans and/or the lower temp thermostat.
The good news is I can replace the radiator in a leasurely 2 hrs now 😊
Installed the X5 4.4 intake manifold because I was suspecting mine was cracked. Realoem says they are the same but x5 is taller and nicer looking. Car has noticebly more torque now, engine feels smoother. I just need to clean up the LPG installation but I am slowly getting there
Removed the red paint off the valve covers and used silver caliper paint

Not really e38 stuff but it is sitting under the e38 in this pic.... Needed a new grill, rats had built a nest in my old gas grill over the winter and the CFO said get rid of it...
I vacillated for several months looking for the next grill and asking friends and several others what type of grill to go with. It also had to be rodent proof!
Most favorable came back with the Green Eggs, but damn they are expensive. This was about 300.00 less for the same size. I wound up buying a Vision Grill - it is a hybrid, meaning it will do charcoal or gas. Just an option folks, keeping the doors open, but it is still the Japanese Kamado style grill.
I bought from HD on line, received it yesterday, put it together, burned it in and then cooked some chicken breasts for dinner. I will have to say - they were much better than I had cooked on my old gas grill(s), so I am back on charcoal for now anyway. I recommend this type of grill for sure.. they do a good job. You can grill, smoke or slow cook with these. Will try a brisket in the near future....

Charcoal all the way. The best way to grill. I have an inexpensive Weber grill I've used for about 10 or 15 years. Still works great. Yours looks pretty fancy! Love the folding tray tables!
I looked at Weber 4 burner gas grill for over $1,000.00
