Can you see the blue now?

Very impressive job.....As man know that it's the five time you managed, in order to find the " right and perfect melody for an M 62 "
Personnaly, i'm on the same research way :-)
We have an European V8, so , for me, it's not a matter of " grumble, raspy, sound..." like Mustang v8 , or hot rod's one,
It's better a matter of ...harmonious melody with soothing tone and litle pulse when revving the engine.....
I'm thinking , that the best one , are Supersprint and Akrapovic, noticely for the (M or no M ) BMW V8 ... But the Price is .... OUTCHHHH !!
So , according to this, my Mod is :
- M5 E39 Muffler , just one per side ( because of the straight pipe inside them)
- Opening my OEM Resonator , for PARTIALLY replace the pipe with holes by a straight pipe)
- welding a H-Pipe , just before the resonator , to mix better gas on low RPM, instead of a X-pipe , who mixe the gas ONLY, on high RPM)
So , i'm very intersted on Hearing the son and tone of Your Mod...;-)

Rock the disco lights!!
only bitch I have is how long they last, I've gone through several suppliers trying to find high quality bling lighting and realize that Everybody's parts are by the same China crap manufacturer there are some diamonds mostly poo.

I've been thinking about doing this EXACT thing, but I didn't know anyone else would want it. Do they have those "disco" lights in orange to match the OEM color? How are they powered? Do you have a link??
And Aitch, where did you get your chrome trim?
I've always wanted to make the gap between the wood and the dashboard smaller, which is perfect for installing the trim.

I got mine from eBay. This one is $20 for 10m, although there are other cheaper options (mine was $15 when I bought it).

I've found that the strips need a little bit of glue in certain spots to keep them in place; simply jamming/tucking the back rubber edge doesn't always hold it in place properly around the car.
Anybody in the Hinsdale area driving a clean prefacelift V12? If so, I saw you.
This is how it looks at day light.

In matter of taste, everything is présent...
and i respect all of members choice , but ...
I'm not keen of it , because of the color choice..I mean, you didn't get another blue color theme in your interior , so ..why Flash Blue ?!? this color seems not naturally inspired
But, your very well apply this , that's a good well job , and of course, i respect your choice, and just answer by giving my point of view...;-)
On mine E38, i recover all the interior wood trim, with Carbon 4D vinyl , and change my gear knob for a carbon one, too...
Because, i was thinking , that to give a more sport touch , it could be a good material choice, with my color body ( cosmo schwartz ) and interior one ( lavender grau)...

Well I finished with the exhaust about an hour ago and it is raining cats and dogs outside so the test drive will have to wait a while longer now. It is quiet at idle.....but gets louder pretty fast. I think it is going to be OK tho - a little raspy, not bad. Judging from the past I think the drone is gone tho..

No hurry - I won't install them in the near future now - I am going to keep Darth off the lift for a while I hope.

I think it least it looks great! Hope you like the sound! How was the fitment?

300 mile run on the Sled, twisting country two-lane, low traffic. AC on auto 70*, 89 day outside the cabin...
Averaged 50.5 mph @ 25.5 mpg, averaged many more grins per mile than the MB and domestic drivers I occasionally
blew by with a slight roll of the throttle.....
Not a bad day, at all...
They fit is tight - that was a major concern making sure there was clearance all around so no rattles. The sound is good from what I can tell in the garage. Not loud at all at idle or steady rpm, a little raspy when you let off the gas, we will see when driving tomorrow.

Reno over the garage took a turn for the worse today with a little rain storm. The noise woke us up at 5:45 am this morning. Contractor rushed over - but the damage is done. They built a little roof over the seven so the soggy sheet rock won't crash down on it. So there's that...
and my son was playing with the squeegee - it'll be dripping for days. Need to find a good detailer around here.
