There's a 750il in the yard I'm going to tomorrow, what are the most worthwhile M73 parts to turnaround?

Apparently the current one is Behr, I think they'll replace with the same.
The previous owner had replaced it but I don't know when. Bought at 115k and have 123k now, it's had a slow leak since I bought it (low coolant message once a month)

I am looking to find some one parting out a 7 that still has the body - I need the exhaust hanger plates that are just to the front of the mufflers. They are held in place by the large (21mm) headed bold that holds the rear sub frame in place. They are about 5 - 6 inches long at the longest point but they are an odd elliptical shape. I need both left and right sides. I modified my original ones to fit M3 hangers and now the M6 hangers are the same size as the original 7 series were.

Personally, I like the black better.

Oh, baby! Black!
Chrome! The black is invisible kind of like black wheels...
Got rid of that ugly license plate trim and installed a new impact strip. Car looks like it's leaning but parking lot is on slight slope.

Sorry Ayal - I think I like the black better also. Looks more sporty, maybe more stealth....I don't know why but I do like it better in this case! Maybe because it will be on Darth!

Got the radiator, top rad hose, and belts replaced today as scheduled. Now I can stop babying it and get back to real driving!!
I became tired of my elbow sliding into the phone cradle....

So I removed the cradle, and cut a filler.

I found a supplier of maple burl in Oregon, got a piece and cut it to size, shaped and formed.
006.JPG
And began the finishing. Stain, epoxy coats, tinted varnish (5 coats so far).

Color is still light for my liking, I think 2-3 more coats will temper the brightness.
My elbow digs it....

Looks really nice but your elbow and heat will crack that beautiful finish

But unlike the Novem Bergamo finish it's a marine spar varnish...figured if it held up to the tropical sun on my boat it should last!
maybe...lol
But damn, Darth looks sweet in 'M'...nice segue from control to comfort....

Wired the Resler interface into the ibus harness at the cd player, and reflashed the MkIV with NavCoder to US spec and changed the language files to US eng, GB eng, French.
And yes the NavCoder software works perfectly on Windows 10, and it automatically loaded the Silicon Labs driver for the Resler interface. Worked like a charm, after I set the COM port
correctly.
One area I have never gone, maybe with good reason. But has anyone had experience with heating and bending sway bars or springs. Does it completely destroy the temper and resistance characteristics of the bar? I need to take some of the bend out - straighten it some if you will to clear and have a better path to the end links.

Your current situation is not your final destination
Nordman's on the money with this one. Heating will change the characteristics of the bar somewhat. If it is a minor straightening it can be done, but slowly and with a rosebud to spread the heat.
Back in the day before aftermarket springs and such we used to heat coil springs evenly, and watch the drop as they reacted. Too much heat, the drop would be aggressive.
But for a minor straightening at the outboard ends of a sway bar could be done with care. I would let the bar cool naturally, no quench with water or oil for a minor adjustment.

Put one of these on. Dude is local to me, so I didn't spend anywhere near that much. With the M60 intake manifold and exhaust on it, it makes a noticeable difference up top/when passing.
