Replaced what I thought was a faulty speed sensor today, but later on I still got an ABS malfunction again. So tomorrow I need to break out the multimeter.

Also, picked up a set of brand new ST coilovers. They'd been sitting for awhile on CL at $850. Decided to be a vulture, threw out an offer of $650. But still scored them for $700!

I was planning for BCs, but for $3-400 less I couldn't pass these up. Just need some new OEM mounts for the tops.

Fixed my wheel shimmy. Re-balanced the wheels, first place balanced them to with in 20g, second place got them exactly zero. Shimmy gone. I guess these front ends are super sensitive to balance weights. Must have knocked a weight off when I changed my ABS sensors without noticing it.

I put dryer sheets all around my car, inside the engine, interior backside, and floor. I don't have mice problems, but what the hell. Safe than sorry.
Lets get the party started before it's my bedtime.

Since I am now at that 75 year old marker I tend to get a little philosophical at times - I read a good quote today also that made me start thinking..... Remember when the first rearview mirrors started to magnify the rear view from the right hand side, they made them start the disclaimer at the bottom. "Objects in your mirror maybe closer than they appear" - it now needs to be put on the front windshield! Things are now changing so fast that we can't comprehend what will happen tomorrow!!!

Think of just one phase of that - driverless cars. They are here, next driverless trucks, driverless farm tractors are here too! Just think of the jobs that will lost to that one factor. Then cities will expand again, more growth in rural areas as people can be more productive traveling to work longer distances as they can work on the way instead of driving. Then think of the insurance companies that will close - fewer accidents, then personal injury lawyers will disappear. Fewer accidents, fewer fatalities - this will all lead to a population explosion, more food production will be needed - CA trucks farms will flourish, more migrant workers, etc. etc. where will it end.

Jobs that are cherished today will not exist in tomorrows market - education/training that will be needed for the jobs of tomorrow has not been developed as of today! We have not even thought that far ahead and it is coming faster than yesterday! I used to think of how lucky the last generation had been - going from horse and buggy to men on the moon. Now I am thinking the next generation will see even more - nano technology in medicine to 150 - 175 year life spans, maybe longer ........all we had was an e38!

It is scary isn't it? You just made a tearful speech...
you know there is probably one thing I scared of more then anything else-is loosing close ones because of time, getting old enough to die is probably worst thing what can happen to us...

Nice, I've been waiting to see more people with E38's fit ST Coilovers. I'm keen to hear how they go!

Yeah I've found very few posts about them. I was angling for BCs because of the bottom height adjustment and damping adjustment, but couldn't pass these up. I don't really want to ride slammed on the ground anyway. Also rode in a friend's Audi last week on KW V1 and the ride was better than my current shocks, KW usually has their damping figured out.

Sweet! Did you get the ultra-lows or custom short front struts as detailed here earlier?

Edit: found your earlier post mentioning they are the Extreme Drop. Looking forward to seeing them installed!

I thought to just use stock grill,
but I also have honeycomb looking powder coated grill to go with, but that way it will need to be custom vented and stuff, will see

I totally lost reverse (inevitable), so I ordered all the manual swap parts today! Also probably doing my rear bumper finally because the recent snow storm somehow caught the corner of it near the wheel and yanked it to the ground. I hope nothing on the actual car is damaged and it's just the bumper.

Also got the car running back to normal with a new passenger side cat, but the no-exhaust sound returned during a drive with some WOT runs - hopefully something just has a weird hole in it and not another severe problem that costs lots of $$$$. No codes or anything, maybe the engine responds a little sluggishly, but nothing serious like last time.

Ordered a passenger window regulator because it went CRUNCH today. Hopefully no one will take advantage of the window that's half rolled down. I can't get it to go up at all.

It's been a hectic ride lately. Too much money, these cars.
