Air struts came in too today. Found this company called AirBFT that makes a kit for the e38. From research it looks like they're the parent company that supplies airbags for all the Taiwan style bag over coilover setups. (K-Sport, D2, etc).

Going with Airlift 3P air management.

OK Fabian, after your comment the other day, I said why not? So 150.00 later for two new door trim strips and then relocating the //M emblem to the front trim instead of the clearance light..

No unfortunately - the camera pics up everything. After looking at those I got out the GumiFugi stuff and redid both trim pieces. looks better now. For some reason they did look good in the longer strip tho.... You know me can't leave well enough alone. I really do like these and the mod overall but it has now become expensive - $150.00 for the emblems and frames, then another $150.00 for two new trim pieces.

The whole idea was to get rid of the clearance lights...I had painted them black, from heat and whatever they still looked bad and I really didn't care if they lit up or not, would rather they didn't. They are now taped up and inside the fender so I didn't have to code the error if I just unplugged them.

Looks great mate.....So its a Sticker? What I meant is the M5 E39 driver and passenger door mouldings are same length as E38, not the rear doors obviously. The E39 M5 moulding has an indention for the M5 badge or in you case the ///M badge..

Not really a sticker = it is a raised plastic plaque that mounts in a frame and then has three clips to hold it in place from the back. The clips are not required tho and they are $3.xx a piece. I just glued it in in both cases from the rear, but it does require a rectangular hole to be cut in the trim piece. I believe they are from an '03 540 with the M sport package. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=51_2259

I custom made my 4" diameter MAF. Its 4" at entrance and exit. I kept the Dinan Elbow to my Dinan TB and the results are very noticeable on the positive side.. I since Sold the Dinan MAf with no regrets.
Dinan for e38 1st came out with a 4 " diameter MAF. They changed it by adding a sleeve inside it ..after complaints of ppl saying they lost their LOW END TORQUE

Here is the picture of a 4" diameter Dinan MAF 1st design

you can see how wide it is at beginning and at end....

Now Dinan at 1st to fix the low end torque had customers return the maf and Dinan added a 1/8 sleeve inside it...Adding a 1/8" sleeve lowers the diameter by 1/4" so now the Dinan MAF is 3.75"'
Here is the shot of that sleeve inside the dinaN Maf...

so if you want more out of your DInan 7 get rid of that MAF....Who cares if u lose the name DINAN on the MAF
Good info! I never noticed that!

    Had a good laugh today.
Bought some Alpina center caps for my rims and they had this sticker on them.
Looks like Chinese learned how to print BMW oem stickers and are applying it to anything now xD

Don't you wish that the aftermarket companies made parts for the e38's like they do for the current models. Just got this from an email from Turner's new OEM expansion catalog.....

    Ordered from local bmw dealer,
Transmission pan, oil drain plug and gasket and fill plug and gasket.

Noticed that it is leaking a bit, from the drain plug, so a good opportunity to change oil again and maybe add some additive last time was max 5000km ago when I changed the oil.

I finally got a grip of my quality of my ride down. Got rid of my brake shaking ( due to front tires had bubbles in inside wall), worn tie rods and fresh alignment. Steering got tighter, which i missed. I now installed a strut brace and my balance of ride is incredible. Feels like im driving a new car (208k miles) The balance i now have at 90 mph turns is amazing. Like im smoothly gliding at 50 mph hut im doing 90 on various hwy roads. Yes i drive my 7 fast.
Just need to color coordinate my engine bay colors soon. Need to install my 30k Silver valve covers on and no more cheesy red valve covers...

Not sure the brand. I bought it off a guy name Jesse off e38 Empire for $80. I used to have the engine cover all blacked out too till my wife got a hold of it in the garage...Found it in 3 pieces...God knows how she did that? She fussed 2 weeks after I asked the whole fam bam who did it...I have to now color coordinate the engine bay..Either black valve covers or Silver and paint the strut bar too

31124610094_original.jpg31124610095_original.jpgI used to have this STRONG STRUT but the damn thing moved a lot.. The bar was over rated...It looked good but functionality the Strut bar I have is 10x better as its SOLID and holds the car perfectly...If you jacked up the car on 1 side with the STRONG STRUT the bar would move (slide) at the joints left and right of the brace... I hated that then your alignment would be kinda off...I drove with SS for 4 years... it was PITA to deal with..It slid so much I had to send it to PAUL, who made it the SS for Heli COil the mounts once again due to stripping of the screws...

Just finished dropping transmission to replace the flywheel, starter and crank sensor. Flywheel was the light weight riveted ( original ). Unfortunately it blew apart in the bell housing broke the starter ring and took out the crank sensor. Big job for a 65 year old in my driveway.

Your flywheel blew apart?? How on earth did that happen... yikes. Not sure I've ever heard of that happening before.

I cleaned my oil sump today. I didn't expect it to be this messy. Does anyone know if this is OK for an M52 engine with 140.000 miles on it?

Bought engine air filter, as my looked quite dirty.
Not bad price, considering it is Filtron, and the Hengst for example is 24e.
